SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Dental Director is responsible for all the Dental Operations at Vibrant Health. The Dental Director is responsible for administering, maintaining and expanding a program of primary care and preventive dental care in a community health center setting. The Dental Director works with internal partners to create collaborations; and manages all aspects and employees of the Dental team including the Outreach Program.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Provide high quality, culturally appropriate clinical care to Dental patients (80% of the role)
  • Ensure top rate customer service for all dental patients.
  • Prepares and submits monthly written reports on Dental Department issues, concerns, program status, initiatives and progress to the {ROLE}.
  • Assists in the provisions of continuing education, on the job training, and the orientation of staff as needed.
  • Designs, develops and implements appropriate Dental Department policies, protocols and processes which are in compliance with the most current accepted professional standards.
  • Assists in the preparation of an operating budget for the Dental Department.
  • Participates in the short- and long-term program planning for the Dental Department and Vibrant Health.
  • Patriciates in the preparation of grant applications for Vibrant Health and assumes primary reasonability for developing and implementing Vibrant Health's dental health care plan.
  • Assists in the coordination and integration of the dental program and serves for the welfare of Vibrant Health patients.
  • Performs periodic evaluations of all Dental Department providers.
  • Supervises, advises, counsels and disciplines all Dental Department providers as needed.
  • Supervise the Dental Office Manager and provide support and leasdership to their role.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Graduate of an accredited dental school (DDS or DMD degree) and maintenance of Kansas state dental licensure required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of public health principles and practices.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability is required.

  • Exhibit experience and working knowledge of local community resources.
  • Hold current drivers' license with an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community.
  • Will be required to have current CPR certification, which can be provided through Vibrant Health if needed.
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).


  • PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish.
    • Administrative, management and budget experience preferred.

    • Employment is contingent upon successful clearance from Criminal, Kansas and Missouri Child/Elder Abuse and Neglect, Sex Offender background investigations, TB testing, pre-employment drug testing, and verification of Hepatitis-B, flu and COVID-19 immunizations.
    • Occasional evening and weekend availability are required.
