Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in aquatics management for operations which include multiple pools.
Certifications
A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required

Skills & Abilities:
- Plan, implement, and oversee aquatics programs, including recreational swimming, lessons, fitness classes, and competitive events, ensuring they align with community needs and departmental goals.
- Develop partnerships with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to expand access to aquatics programs.
- Monitor program participation and effectiveness, adapting offerings to reflect resident interests and emerging trends.
- Oversee daily operations of pools and other aquatic facilities to ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
- Work with maintenance teams to ensure the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of indoor and outdoor aquatic amenities.
- Assist in planning renovations, upgrades, and expansions for aquatics facilities to meet evolving community needs.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of aquatics professionals, including lifeguards, instructors, and supervisors.
- Participates in and teaches aquatic and safety certification training sessions, as necessary.
- Create and implement professional development programs to enhance staff skills and retention.
- Ensure staff compliance with all safety certifications and training requirements.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all patrons and staff at aquatic facilities.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal health and safety regulations.
- Lead emergency response efforts and ensure aquatic facilities are prepared for emergencies.
- Prepare and manage the aquatics division budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Identify funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships, to support aquatics programming and facilities.
- Act as a liaison between the Parks and Recreation Department and the public, addressing concerns and promoting aquatics programs and services.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for residents of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Requires physical ability to perform rescue functions, facility inspections, and participate in aquatic activities.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Public Administration, or a related field or commiserate experience of 10 or more years in aquatics management.
Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in aquatics management for operations which include multiple pools.
Certifications
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification is required within the first year of employment.
- Current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, first aid, AED, and water safety instruction which includes LGI, WSI, and the ability to obtain LGIT and WSIT status within one year of employment
A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required
