Introduction
The Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for Prince William County, Cities of Manassas & Manassas Park is looking for an experienced prosecutor and leader for the position of Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This position supervises Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorneys and leads one of five units: Violent Crimes, Special Investigations, Domestic Violence, Juvenile Offenders, or Special Victims. The position reports directly to the Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney. Duties will include assigning cases to Senior Assistants, handling a full caseload at all levels of Court. Duties also include serving as "Duty Attorney" and responding to calls and questions from citizens, law enforcement, and defense counsel; Attending Relevant training; and Engaging with members of the Community we serve.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSJuris Doctorate degree and 4 years of progressively responsible related experience.
PREFERENCES
The ideal candidate must have a Juris Doctorate degree and 15 years of related experience that includes management and supervisory experience. The selected applicant must: manage a heavy caseload; be skilled at legal research and writing; be able to work both independently and collaboratively in an office that values civility, initiative, sound judgment and skilled advocacy.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $137,275.00 to $145,000.00/yr.
