Job Description

The New York City Housing Authority is seeking a Deputy Director for the Leased Housing Department's Leased Housing Department Bronx Client Services Unit. Bronx Client Services is responsibilities include the recertification and lease renewal of participants of the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Under the direction of the Senior Director, the Deputy Director will help lead and will supervise the unit the recertification and s responsible for processing the development of policy procedures and managing operations.

The Deputy Director will have primary responsibility for assisting the Director in the strategic oversight and management of the internal organizational processes and infrastructure; managing the allocation of staff and other resources; ensuring effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting of performance; ensuring the timely completion of work to meet regulatory requirements; development of policy and procedure and the implementation of all policy and procedures.

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Direct, mentor, coach and evaluate Bronx Client Services Department.
-Oversee all management, administrative, and personnel actions related to the unit, including managing assignments, monitoring productivity and fail trends, ensuring cases are reinstated and payment adjustments are properly made, etc.
-Manage staff assignments, training, and performance management. This includes supervising, coaching, and mentoring of staff, monitoring performance, assigning tasks.
-Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure staff adhere to HUD and NYCHA policies and procedures.
-Participate in the development and implementation of policies, and procedures.
-Use data and analysis to create reports, assess productivity and identify programmatic trends that will drive current and present decisions.
-Validate reports on operations and activities, maintain records and data pertaining to unit activities.
-Address issues and inquires made by third parties (e.g., applicants, tenants, owners, etc.).
-Establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers to maximize service.
-Attend and represent the department at meetings.

Note: Due to the existence of a civil service list, candidates must have permanent civil service status in the title of Administrative Housing Manager to be considered.
