Job Purpose:

The Deputy Plant Manager is results-driven to support daily operations at foundry/casting plant. This role is responsible in managing production, ensuring safety and quality standards, improving efficiency, and leading a Team to meet operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Production Management:
  • Assist in overseeing daily foundry operations, focusing on ductile casting (FCD) and DISA Vertical Molding Machine processes.
  • Monitor production schedules and coordinate with departments to ensure on-time delivery of castings.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained properly and report any issues that may impact production.

Quality & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure strict adherence to casting quality processes to meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Enforce safety management programs and compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other industry regulations.
  • Lead safety training, incident investigations, and proactive risk management initiatives.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management:
  • Supervise and support production supervisors and frontline workers.
  • Assist in training and developing employees to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Assist with hiring, scheduling, and performance management of plant personnel.
  • Effectively communicate and present reports and findings to senior management and key stakeholders.

Supply Chain & Inventory Control:
  • Work with purchasing and logistics teams to ensure material availability for production.
  • Help monitor raw material usage and control inventory costs.
  • Support supply chain management efforts to reduce downtime and production delays.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ductile casting (FCD) and DISA (Vertical Molding Machine) operations.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in casting quality processes.
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate findings, data analysis, and improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in safety management with a solid understanding of OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience in equipment maintenance planning and preventive maintenance strategies.
