RRC seeks a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) for electronics hardware and software development efforts working in a multi-disciplinary Research and Development (R&D) atmosphere with skilled engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists in a highly rewarding personal and professional environment. The DPM supports and reports directly to a Program Manager who leads and manages with a high degree of independence exercising responsibility for program cost, schedule, performance, budget, and risk, and while maintaining our company's outstanding reputation. The DPM will also function as a Systems Engineer by leading technical teams through system architecture creation, design, development, testing, requirements generation, and verification and validation of emerging systems to enable multi-domain operations.

What are the primary responsibilities in the Deputy Program Manager position?
The DPM is responsible for supporting the PM during all phases of the contract lifecycle including proposal development, staffing, development of plans and schedules, sub-project management and control, conducting formal tests, financial management and forecasting, project reviews, quality, customer relationships, reporting to customers and RRC management, and long-term product support. The DPM must be fully cognizant of the PM's program performance measurement baseline, the systems engineering/development cycle, and the many stakeholders who have touchpoints with the program. Additional responsibilities include managing risk; facilitating communication internally and externally; and taking the initiative to execute guidance or standing direction during the PM's absence. This position will require coordination and communication across a geographically dispersed organization.
The DPM will also assist the ASBU VP and other senior RRC technical staff, through the PM, to help develop strategic technology goals to continue our current success in developing leading technologies to solve mission critical problems, and participate in business development activities that include leading and/or authoring contract proposals.

What required background will make you successful?
- B.S. in electrical engineering, physics, computer science or mathematics
- Professional certification in project management with verifiable successful program management experience
- Experience with creating plans and schedules
- Experience with resource and financial forecasting
- Experience building and leading technical teams
- Experience with risk management
- Experience with earned value management system reporting
- Experience with program life cycle leadership
- Experience writing proposals
- Verifiable ability to cooperate with customers and deliver high quality results
- ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE
- US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
Preferred skills:
- M.S. or higher in engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics
- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Advanced Certification in Program Management or Information Systems Acquisition
- Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Verifiable military and/or commercial space systems operation, acquisition, development, test and integration experience
- Verifiable ability to write or analyze requirements and test documentation
