The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns - both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members - with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working professionals who are committed to electing Democrats and winning the House majority.
Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle
Position Summary:
The Research Department at the DCCC assists campaigns with opposition research projects, rapid response, proactive attacks on Republican incumbents and challengers, and advises campaigns on paid media, polling, policy questions, and other campaign activities. The Deputy Research Director helps design and implement a strategy to develop research materials for top-tier districts across the country to support the work of campaigns, the Committee, and allied groups.
The Deputy Research Director works with the Research Director to manage a team of researchers who produce dozens of in-depth research books, hundreds of background documents, thousands of reports on events across the country, and advise on the use of those materials to hold Republicans accountable in earned and paid media.

The Deputy Research Director works with the Research Director to manage a team of researchers who produce dozens of in-depth research books, hundreds of background documents, thousands of reports on events across the country, and advise on the use of those materials to hold Republicans accountable in earned and paid media.
Responsibilities:
- Helping to build, train, and manage a 15+ person Research Department, with specific managerial duties with Regional Research Directors;
- Developing rapid response and long-term research products against a wide range of Republican incumbents and candidates, as well as editing content generated by other members of the Research Department;
- Advising DCCC Regional pods and campaigns on strategic messaging;
- Working directly with campaigns and other departments at the DCCC to develop and implement both earned and paid messaging strategy in House races across the country;
- Approving research backup for DCCC polling and paid communications nationwide; including television, radio, digital and mail advertising;
- Assisting the DCCC Communications and Digital departments in the creation and vetting of public facing press, fundraising, and social media assets;
- Other duties and research projects as needed.
Requirements
- 2-3 cycles of opposition research experience required;
- At least one cycle managing researchers;
- Extensive experience editing research projects, focusing on strategic content as well as grammar and formatting;
- Flexibility to quickly change projects in a fast-paced environment and work with different teams within the Research Department;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Strong understanding of political campaigns and messaging strategy;
- Self-motivation, as well as a strong commitment to teamwork;
- Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines a must;
