  • A DRE is responsible for the following tasks; however, they may be called upon from time to time based on the business requirements to support additional work not outlined here.
  • A DRE is responsible for their component from 'Cradle to Grave' (the owner and manager / CEO) accountable from inception to SOP (Start of Production) +3 months) in the main and to be able to do this they will be responsible for all aspects of the component.
  • Their involvement will start from RFQ's (Request for Quotation) to technical reviews and ensuring all applicable component owner documentation such as Jama / Jira requirements are met for the component.
  • The DRE is responsible for maintaining all project related documentation and deliverables including SPR's using internal meeting minutes associated with their component not limited to Mechanical design.
  • This includes Geometrical design interfaces, Electrical and Electronic Hardware, Software, Optical, Testing (DVP (Design Validation Plan)) such as EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), Component and vehicle level testing such as Durability, Crest, Homologation of their components together with the help of other teams such as the Testing and Development, Certification, and external parties such as test facilities, Intertek, NHSTA etc.
  • In addition to this they are responsible for product releasing the components as well organising internal reviews for Significant Characteristics (SC's) and Critical Characteristics (CC's) and cascade these as required.
  • They are responsible for reviews such as, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), Optical- Speos as well as Studio reviews for Lit mock up sign off (buddy system).
  • The DRE is also responsible for supporting Prototype and Production builds until the program is handed over to the Plant Vehicle Team (Resident Engineering team PVT) and the manufacturing team (MGF) and having a handshake between teams at the end of the project.
  • The DRE is expected to collaborate with cross functional teams within the lighting organisation as well as other teams such as Studio, Purchasing, Quality, Body, Electrical and CAE teams within the organisation to deliver their component on time, to the agreed budget.
  • As an additional responsibility the DRE's may be asked from time to time to come up with VA/VE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) opportunities for their components.

Salary Range: $100,000- $145,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
