Job Description
The successful candidate for this position will serve as a Discipline Lead or Area Lead with responsibility for HVAC, utilities and/or plumbing scope on assigned projects.
Job duties include:
Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents to meet project requirements and goals
Develop and routinely monitor/maintain estimates, schedules, staffing forecasts, and progress
Develop/review project design criteria based on applicable local codes and client standards
Prepare/check design calculations, specifications, and engineering drawings and ensure that they address all relevant project and regulatory requirements
Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, inspection, testing, acceptance, installation, and commissioning
Provide technical support in the development of permitting and subcontracting packages
Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in areas of expertise
Assist in training and development of less experienced engineers and designers including performance appraisal input and career coaching
Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Professional registration and membership in technical society (preferred)
Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
Practical field experience
Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
Preferred Qualifications
Life sciences & pharma industry experience
Semiconductor & microelectronics industry experience
Data center industry experience
Drawing and modeling experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D or Smart 3D
Practical field experience related to the installation, start-up, and commissioning of HVAC, utilities and/or plumbing systems
