We are currently looking for a Design Manager to join our team in our El Dorado Hills Corporate office.

Design Manager day-to-day:
  • Lead collaboration between architectural, engineering, and construction teams to ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations.?
  • Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering to optimize designs for cost and efficiency.?
  • Develop and oversee design integration plans, ensuring milestones align with project schedules and contractual requirements.?
  • Collaborate with estimating teams to validate budgets and maintain cost controls during the design process.?
  • Facilitate design coordination meetings with internal teams, external consultants, and clients.?
  • Develop a work plan and prepare a preconstruction schedule to establish?required?design milestones, and track those design milestones.?
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, design consultants, and internal teams.?
  • Address and resolve design conflicts or risks, ensuring timely decisions to maintain project momentum.?
  • Review design documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with codes and standards.?
  • Identify potential design-related risks and implement mitigation strategies.?
  • Analyze project outcomes to identify lessons learned and enhance future design-build processes.?
  • Contribute to the development of workflows and best practices to improve collaboration and efficiency.
  • Validate proposed MEPF basis of design (BOD) against design criteria at the RFP phase and continue through the development of construction documents.?
  • Develop design scopes of work, solicit design professional fee proposals, evaluate and negotiate final design professional fees.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for:
  • Four-year college baccalaureate--level degree with emphasis in technical disciplines such as engineering, construction management, architecture, or equivalent technical area of study.? 15+ years of experience in project management and design on construction, architecture, engineering, or equivalent technical projects.??
  • Must possess DBIA certification.
  • Architectural license is a plus.
  • Must possess substantial knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering, architectural and construction principles, techniques, applications, and practices. Project experience with Design-Build or Design/Assist delivery modes.??
  • Extensive knowledge of construction practices and procedures.??
  • Understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing building systems and CBC.??
  • Possess or have the ability to acquire LEED Professional Certification and other required and supporting industry qualifications.???
  • Understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications.??
  • Experienced application of financial accounting principles, administrative support, and personnel interaction in professional settings.??
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software and Procore or similar Project Management software.??
  • Capable of demonstrating leadership, patience and diplomacy.??
  • Ability to represent the company and client entities in a professional manner at all times to ensure company policies and procedures as well as compliance to all applicable laws and regulations.???
