Job Description

Seeking a Design Project Manager for a Construction Management Firm/Owner's Representative specializing nationwide in commercial construction work. As a Design Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing project designs, evaluations, and studies. You will ensure quality control by reviewing designs prepared by others and lead the project team in managing design changes. Your role includes coordinating and assembling comprehensive design team proposals, estimating in-house engineering, and establishing project budgets and schedules.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee project designs, evaluations, and studies.
  • Review designs prepared by others to ensure quality control.
  • Lead the project team in managing design changes.

  • Track project timelines, expenditures, and deliverables.
  • Report to clients and management regarding project status.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings, coordination meetings, and design review meetings.
  • Manage tasks to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships through prompt responses and proactive communication.
  • Collaborate across disciplines by coordinating, supporting, and communicating with colleagues.
  • Lead interactions with local municipalities and contractor teams for permitting and construction activities.
  • Ensure project responsibilities align with contracted services and prepare additional service requests when necessary.
  • Oversee and mentor staff.
  • Work in the field on construction sites, arranging site walkthroughs, and leading project team meetings.
  • Ensure client-specified performance criteria are met.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Project management experience in commercial construction.
  • Construction Manager, Construction Project Manager, Revit, Data Center Experience Required.
  • Management of budgets, contracts, and coordination with consultants.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in design, construction documentation, production design, project management, architectural design, and construction administration.
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills.
  • Superior written communication skills.
  • Experience working on large-scale design and construction projects.
  • Experience working on highly technical design and construction projects such as Mission Critical, Cleanroom, or Manufacturing projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of direct experience working with an architectural firm or consulting engineering firm.
  • Five years of experience managing a team of multiple building design disciplines.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture or equivalent combination of work experience and relevant education.
Work Environment

This is a 100% remote role with travel to the site every three months. This job offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects with cutting-edge technology alongside a supportive team, including general contractors and construction management firms.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
