Role Overview
We are looking for a Developer Relations professional who is as comfortable diving into code as they are hosting community events. You will play a crucial role in growing, fostering, and engaging a vibrant community of developers, researchers, and other stakeholders passionate about open-source AI. Beyond typical community-building activities, this role requires strong technical acumen to craft in-depth tutorials, documentation, and demos that empower our community to leverage Oumi's open AI platform effectively.

Role Overview

You will play a crucial role in growing, fostering, and engaging a vibrant community of developers, researchers, and other stakeholders passionate about open-source AI. Beyond typical community-building activities, this role requires strong technical acumen to craft in-depth tutorials, documentation, and demos that empower our community to leverage Oumi's open AI platform effectively.
What you'll do:
- Community Growth: Develop and execute strategies to attract and onboard new community members-including developers, researchers, and AI enthusiasts-through targeted outreach, partnerships, and events.
- Technical Content Creation: Write and maintain high-quality documentation, code samples, tutorials, and demos that showcase Oumi's platform capabilities and guide users from onboarding to advanced usage.
- Developer Advocacy: Engage directly with community members to provide technical support, gather feedback, and help them overcome development hurdles, ensuring a positive experience with Oumi's platform.
- Event Management: Organize and host both online and offline events (e.g., webinars, workshops, hackathons) that foster community interaction, skill-building, and knowledge sharing around AI and open-source projects.
- Feedback Collection: Gather, analyze, and synthesize community feedback to inform product roadmaps, documentation improvements, and overall platform experience enhancements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and research teams to stay abreast of new features and roadmap changes, ensuring the community is kept informed and engaged.
- Open Source Engagement: Serve as a champion for Oumi's open-source projects, helping community members navigate contribution processes and guiding them toward meaningful contributions.
- Community Advocacy: Advocate internally for the needs and perspectives of developers and researchers, ensuring that community insights drive decision-making across the organization.
- Platform Promotion: Promote and drive adoption of the Oumi platform within developer communities and enterprise settings, highlighting key features, best practices, and success stories.
- Ecosystem Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with other open-source communities, organizations, and individuals to expand Oumi's reach and foster collaboration.
What you'll bring:
- Technical Experience: Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks, DevOps pipelines, or similar development environments. You can comfortably create and explain technical demos and code snippets.
- Developer Relations Background: Proven track record in developer advocacy, technical community management, or developer evangelism-preferably in open-source projects.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, engaging materials for diverse audiences.
- AI Knowledge: Familiarity with machine learning concepts, data pipelines, and the broader AI ecosystem, enabling you to effectively guide and support community members.
- Content Creation Proficiency: Experience in producing technical documentation, tutorials, and guides that empower developers to successfully adopt tools and platforms.
- Community Building: Demonstrated ability to grow and nurture thriving online communities, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Open Source Enthusiasm: Genuine passion for open-source software; experience contributing to or managing open-source projects is highly desirable.
- Collaboration & Initiative: A self-starter who can work independently and proactively identify areas of improvement, while also collaborating effectively across teams.
