Vistakon (Johnson & Johnson Vision Care) is seeking a senior-level J2EE developer with architecture experience to contribute to the enhancement of an existing global E-Commerce application that is predominantly a Business-to-Business site for eye-care professionals (ECPs), ie., practitioners, distributors, large customers. ECPs can place orders of contact lenses, prescribe prescriptions for patients, view a wide range of reports regarding orders and financials, check the status of orders, etc. Within the past couple of years it has also expanded to include a Business-to-Consumer site targeted at the consumers who wear the contact lenses. In Q3 2017 J&J acquired Sightbox, which is a subscription vision care service that connects consumers with eye care professionals and an annual supply of contact lenses. The subscription service has already been integrated into its US E-Commerce site, so these resources will support efforts to integrate it into its Japan-facing E-Commerce site.
Day-to-Day responsibilities will include:
Architecting the solution for integrating the new subscription service (1st month of the project)
Take "ownership" of the design efforts, including regularly providing solutions and ideas
Conducting enhancements within the confines of an existing framework, including taking a basic requirement from the business and using it to conduct all enhancements from the front-end HTML prototypes all the way through to the back-end working with the database
Writing test plans
Working within the J&J change control process
Technology Stack in Environment:
Language: J2EE
Front-End: Struts and Javascript Frameworks including JQuery
Persistence Layer: Hibernate
Business Logic: EJBs
Back-End: Oracle
Responsive Design Components
Web Service Calls that pass XML (SOAP for existing services, REST for new services)
Interact with ERP systems (SAP interfaces using Web Service Calls)

8+ years of experience developing web-based Java / J2EE applications
2+ years of experience architecting web-based Java / J2EE applications
WebLogic application server
Hibernate and Struts frameworks
Oracle back-end databases
Working knowledge of Front-End technologies, including HTML and Javascript Libraries like JQuery
