Your Role:
We are seeking a Development Engineer 2 to join the Single Use and Integrated Systems R&D group within the Process Solutions business unit at MilliporeSigma.
This position plays a critical role in the design, development, and commercialization of innovative products used in the processing and purification of pharmaceutical and biotech product streams.
5% travel may be necessary.

Your Role:
We are seeking a Development Engineer 2 to join the Single Use and Integrated Systems R&D group within the Process Solutions business unit at MilliporeSigma.
This position plays a critical role in the design, development, and commercialization of innovative products used in the processing and purification of pharmaceutical and biotech product streams.
5% travel may be necessary.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the design and development of single-use components, assemblies, and associated hardware for bioprocessing applications.
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes, including those involving injection molding, plastic bonding and assembly operations.
- Lead prototyping, testing, and validation, leveraging hands-on experience.
- Bring a curious, solutions-oriented mindset to help solve technical challenges and improve product performance.
- Take ownership of tasks while utilizing the cross-functional team to brainstorm the best solutions.
- Document designs, specify materials, tolerance components, write technical documents.
- Engage with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.) to support project success.
- Contribute as a key member of cross-functional product development teams, driving projects from concept through commercialization.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering discipline with 3+ years of experience.
-OR-
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering discipline with 1+ years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on industry experience with plastic components, assemblies, and filtration systems.
- Experience with tools and techniques such as injection molding, bonding methods and CAD software including SolidWorks.
- Experience with pumps, sensors, flow control, and data acquisition.
- Knowledge of product and process development activities, including design of experiments (DOE), FMEA, design for manufacturing, test method development, and qualification/validation.
