Scope of Position: The Development Manager of Fundraising and Communications plays a key role in planning, implementing, and managing the organization's fundraising and communications efforts. This position is essential for securing the financial resources needed to fulfill our mission and for effectively communicating our impact to key stakeholders-including donors, volunteers, community partners, and the general public. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, strategic, and results-driven professional with a proven track record in both fundraising and communications.

Essential Position Functions:
- Support the creation of a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy, including individual giving, grants (foundation, corporate, government), special events, and online fundraising initiatives.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with current and prospective supporters.
- Research potential grant opportunities, write compelling proposals and reports, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Manage the annual giving program, including direct mail campaigns and online fundraising platforms.
- Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events from concept to post-event follow-up, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals.
- Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the donor database (CRM system), ensuring data integrity and effective reporting.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and program staff to ensure fundraising efforts align with the organization's strategic priorities.
- Oversee The Bridge's website content, ensuring it is up-to-date, engaging, and aligned with the organization's brand and mission.
- Develop and manage The Bridge's social media presence across various platforms, creating engaging content and fostering strong online communities.
- Create compelling content for a variety of communication channels, including annual reports, brochures, press releases, and other marketing materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising.
- Proven success in securing individual gifts, grants, and sponsorships, particularly within the New York philanthropic community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and persuasive appeals tailored to a New York audience.
- Experience developing and executing communications strategies across multiple platforms.
- Proficiency in using Raiser's Edge or other CRM systems, as well as social media management tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Genuine passion for the mission of The Bridge.
