The Division of Management Services, Bureau of Technology Management is currently recruiting to fill a DevOps Administrator - Specialist (IS Technical Services Specialist) position. This position will be headquartered at our central office in Madison, WI.
Position Summary
The position's primary responsibilities and expertise are in the areas of containerization, Kubernetes, DevOps platform tools and local development environment. This includes implementation, administration and support of DevSecOps platform and its complimentary tools, such as Argo, Ansible playbooks, Terraform scripts, Gitlab, Rancher, Helm, etc. Other responsibilities could include the on-boarding of applications and providing specialized technical support, consultation, and training services for department staff. This position will recommend local development technologies and standards, installation and maintenance standards.
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $76960 and $108992 per year, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule/range is 07-33. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment.
Note: This position will be able to work 100% remotely but may be in the office as needed (first day will be in office to retrieve mobile equipment).
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
Installing, configuring, testing, and supporting container platform infrastructure with DevOps methodologies.
Developing and maintaining scripts and other infrastructure as code in accordance with established standards.
Providing technical support and problem diagnosis and resolution for systems software and applications development.
Working with and utilizing scripting languages such as yaml, powershell, terraform, etc.
