Job Description
The DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes) will be responsible for implementing DevOps best practices, automating infrastructure deployment, and managing cloud environments.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Design, implement, and optimize Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the software delivery process.
- Automate deployment, testing, and monitoring workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Ensure best practices in CI/CD workflows, including automated testing, version control, and consistent releases.
- Develop and manage Terraform code to automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure on AWS and other cloud platforms.
- Debug and resolve issues with Terraform scripts and manage the state of cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure best practices for maintaining Terraform modules, reusable components, and configurations.
- Integrate Terraform with CI/CD pipelines for fully automated infrastructure deployment.
- Build and deploy scalable applications in AWS using services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, and IAM.
- Automate AWS resource provisioning and configuration through Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS SDKs.
- Optimize application performance, cost, and scalability on AWS by using the right AWS services and following AWS best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS infrastructure, application deployment, and performance.
- Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes on cloud platforms (including Amazon EKS).
- Design and implement container orchestration solutions for large-scale, highly available applications.
- Configure Kubernetes clusters, services, ingress controllers, and manage container lifecycle.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based applications, addressing issues related to deployment, scaling, and performance.
- Develop, deploy, and manage Ansible playbooks for automating configuration management and server provisioning tasks.
- Ensure consistency and scalability of environments through automated Ansible workflows.
- Integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines to ensure the efficient and reliable deployment of code across environments.
- Troubleshoot and debug Ansible configurations and automation tasks to ensure system stability and performance.
- Work with development and operations teams to design and implement solutions that meet operational and security requirements.
- Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, CI/CD processes, and deployment workflows.
- Provide training and support to team members on best practices for infrastructure management, automation, and deployment.
Qualification
- Active Top-Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a relate field of study.
- 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or a related role.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with DevOps software development practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated deployment.
- Strong experience developing, deploying, and debugging Terraform scripts for cloud infrastructure automation.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and interacting with cloud APIs.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and IAM.
- Strong experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes (preferably on Amazon EKS) for container orchestration and management.
- Expertise in developing, deploying, and managing Ansible automation playbooks for configuration management and deployment automation.
- Experience working in Linux environments, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with Docker for containerizing applications and creating microservices-based architectures.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
- Familiarity with serverless technologies in AWS (e.g., AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS).
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud infrastructure and automated deployments, including IAM roles, encryption, and access controls.
