Job Summary

The Cardiac Services Director plans, coordinates, monitors, promotes, and evaluates all components of Cath Lab Pre - Post Recovery Unit and Diagnostic Cardiac Services Department ensuring patient safety and quality care. Plans, supervises, and evaluates patient care and nursing personnel of the Pre - Post Recovery Unit. Coordinates duties for all shifts to accomplish continuity of safe quality patient care. Responsible for managing department operational and capital budgets, approvals, and ongoing maintenance of the department(s), ensuring operation in a cost-effective manner. Proactively identifies and plans for capital needs related to current equipment and future department projects. Ensures staffing plans and schedules meet department needs that reflect understanding of the importance of cost-effectiveness. Collaborates and plans initiatives with the Cardiology Medical Director, Neurology Medical Director, Electrophysiology Medical Director and Interventional Radiologist. Assures compliance with standards, policies and requirements of governmental and regulatory agencies.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

Five years of progressive Nursing Healthcare Supervisory/Management experience with a strong background in Cath Lab, cardiovascular or critical care. Contract development/negotiation, Physician contracting and business plan development experience preferred.\

  • Attainment of the Nurse Executive Leadership certificate or an approved nursing certificate in a specialty area is highly preferred:

  • National Nursing Certification

    Credentialing Agency

    Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN)

    American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN)

    Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (RN-BC)

    American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

    Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)

    Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN)

  • Nursing Executive Leadership certification is preferred within two years of being in the position.
  • Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing Business, Healthcare Administrative, or related field preferred.
