Summary:
The director will be responsible for the overall management of the undergraduate and graduate programs in emergency and disaster management, and business continuity, in the School for Public Affairs and Administration. The director will be responsible for building and sustaining a faculty of emergency and disaster management and business continuity professionals who have demonstrated knowledge of and accomplishments in their fields of expertise. The director will assign these professors to course sections in the programs that he or she oversees.
The program director will be an integral part of the team leading the college's Academic Affairs division.
The program director will also work collaboratively with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs to develop strategies to market the programs and increase the enrollment of new and continuing students. In addition, the director will also work with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean for Academic Affairs to develop and launch new degree and non-degree programs that leverage the college's strengths in the fields of emergency and disaster management and business continuity planning.
Administrative Responsibilities
MCNY operates in a hybrid work format. Currently, this role works at least 3 days a week from the office and 2 days remote.

- Ensure that course sections are assigned to appropriate members of the faculty
- Cultivate and grow the faculty
- Evaluate professors' performance
- Address and resolve student issues
- Conduct orientations for faculty
- Conduct orientations for new and continuing students
- Evaluate and award transfer credit
- Work collaboratively with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President of Enrollment Management to ensure the growth and stability of the programs
- Work the faculty and Dean for Academic Affairs and Vice President for Academic Affairs to revise and update curricula as warranted
- Represent the programs and college in professional organizations and events related to emergency management and business continuity
- Stay abreast of developments in these fields at the local, state, national, and international levels
