As a Director of Human Resources you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.

Job Overview

This position will develop and implement People strategies, policies, and programs to support the health system.
The Director of Human Resources will implement comprehensive strategies and provide leadership and guidance by overseeing or working with the following HR functions.
Employee Relations & Experience - Maintain a strong expertise of HR's objectives to provide value to the business through strategic ER support. Drive an effective employee engagement strategy and action planning that reinforces the desired culture and behaviors. Help to shape Deaconess' culture by having a deep understanding of what impacts attitudes toward the organization. Create and support an environment of trust, transparency, credibility, and integrity and build long-term positive relationships between the organization, its employees, and leaders. Partner with business leaders and the HR team to develop initiatives that enhance employee morale, satisfaction, productivity, and well-being. Identify, monitor, assess, and mitigate potential employment risks in business decisions and situations. Provide coaching and development to Deaconess leaders. Critically and creatively address complex problems through a consultative approach that aligns with Deaconess' goals.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, and retention. Provide leadership and consultation at all levels to overcome barriers and identify and implement policies that advance the work and meet organizational goals. Organize and lead organizational ERGs to make the culture more inclusive. Facilitate employee and leader training and engagement on DEI. Partner with HR and leaders to implement a new employee experience that promotes a culture of belonging, pride, and trust. Use data to benchmark current diversity and inclusion results.
HR Technology & Talent Analytics - Enlist and partner with IT, Finance, Nursing, and other functional areas as needed to properly assess technological impacts on HR systems and processes. Drive HR strategy through the design, implementation, and administration of HRIS systems and processes. Provide experience in gathering data requirements, design, maintenance, upgrades, testing, and implementation of HR Systems and modules. Lead and develop a variety of analytical tasks and reports of HR and system-related data to support process improvements and alignment with goals. Use data and analytics to develop storytelling through insights, recommendations, and actions. Provides leadership with review and audits of HR data, creation of dashboards to provide data analysis, data mining, statistical techniques, and industry benchmarking to identify organizational trends. Lead complex projects over multiple locations and business functions.
Organizational Development & Change - collaborate with cross-functional teams and organizational leaders to implement Deaconess' change management framework. Ensure Deaconess employees and leaders are educated, engaged, and motivated to continuously learn and adapt to changes within the system. Lead the learning and development team to build and mature capabilities within the health system. Ensure change readiness and adoption. Stay updated on industry best change management and learning practices and emerging trends. Equip employees with the knowledge and skills required.
Succession Planning - consult with business leaders to understand talent strengths, gaps, and needs and develop workforce plans, succession management plans, career development plans, competency development, and learning plans, and diversity and inclusion plans to prepare the next generation of talent.
Total Rewards - develop innovative compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and meet the needs of the people in the organization.
Talent Acquisition - partner with business leaders to attract top tier talent to Deaconess. Create pipelines for diverse high caliber talent through innovative and data-driven workforce planning, sourcing and marketing.

What you will need
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
At least 8-10 years of HR experience including 5 years of generalist experience. Experience in health care preferred.
Strong leadership and influence skills, and the ability to inspire change.
Demonstrated ability to coach and influence decisions of senior leaders.
Strong project management skills and results orientation.
Demonstrated knowledge of HR strategies, practices, and policies.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Demonstrated ability to thrive and manage ambiguity - dealing with issues that do not always have a process or system in place.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actions.
