Your contribution!

Lead a culture of compliance throughout the company including interfaces with business development, construction, information technology/operation technology (IT/OT), legal and operations;

Your day-to-day!
  • Lead compliance management and oversight for development, construction, and operating projects with the goal of maintaining high reliability and preventing non compliances including:
    • Identifying compliance requirements;
    • Managing assembly and submission of compliance documentation;
    • Managing maintenance of compliance documentation throughout construction and operations by liaising with construction and operations personnel and subject matter experts;
    • Leading response to self-certification, regulatory audits and questions including assembly and leading response teams;
    • Investigating any potential violations, completing self-reports, developing mitigation strategies for submission to the relevant regional reliability entity;
    • Advise, plan and lead the transition from CIP Low- to Medium-Impact from a compliance perspective, in collaboration with IT/OT and operations teams;
    • Lead, oversee and mentor the reliability compliance team.
  • Maintain, save, file, and archive regulatory, technical, or administrative documents ensuring that the retention of documents and evidence meets all regulatory requirements;
  • Monitor applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) standards, both effective and under development including provision of any feedback requested;
  • Monitor and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with NERC and FERC standards with assistance from subject matter experts;
  • Track reporting and data submittal requirements;
  • Prepare submissions for monthly construction and operating reports on project compliance;
  • Lead and manage the compliance team and support/liaise with other departments across the company offices;
  • Lead the implementation of internal compliance program in the company including performing regular internal audits to ensure compliance, conduct gap analyses, and complete corrective actions;
  • Act as the primary compliance contact and compliance officer as required;
  • Communicate to all employees INE's commitment to compliance on a frequent basis, both formally through training and informally;
  • Oversee scopes of work with 3rd party consultants to support electrical reliability and compliance;
  • Perform other duties as required.

Your skills, our requirements!
  • Leadership and commitment to compliance philosophy;
  • Ability to drive and deploy compliance initiatives through organizational change management;
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills;
  • Team player with superior communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under tight timeframes;
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the field of NERC compliance, with experience working for a Generator Owner and/or Generator Operator preferred;
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external;
  • Strong experience with CIP standards in particular for CIP Medium Impact is considered an asset;
  • Experience with transitioning a company from Low- to Medium-Impact is considered an asset;
  • Bachelor's degree from a post-secondary institution;
  • Experience with AssurX software is considered an asset.

Additional considerations!
  • The position can be based in the Company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters. Other locations in Canada or the United States can be considered.
  • This position is a M3 level with a base salary of $125,000 to $164,000, exclusive of fringe benefits and/or potential bonuses.
