The Director of Digital Fundraising will lead the strategy, execution, and growth of AKF's digital fundraising efforts, with a focus on expanding donor engagement and revenue across all digital channels, including email, SMS, web, SEM programmatic advertising, and paid/organic social in partnership with the subject matter experts in those areas.
Working collaboratively with the Senior Director of Individual Giving and the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Digital Fundraising will serve as a collaborative leader who can work closely with marketing and other departments within AKF to develop and implement strategies to support revenue generation across the organization. Additionally, the Director of Digital Fundraising will manage vendor relationships to optimize fundraising strategies, ensuring the successful execution of campaigns aligned with organization goals.

AKF offers a hybrid work schedule with employees working in the office 1-4 days per month and telework the rest of the time.

Additionally, the Director of Digital Fundraising will manage vendor relationships to optimize fundraising strategies, ensuring the successful execution of campaigns aligned with organization goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Digital Fundraising
- Online Giving Program -
- Develop and implement integrated multi-channel digital fundraising strategies working in partnership with outside vendors and AKF staff including, email, paid media, social media, SEO, website optimization, autoresponders, splash pages, lightboxes, donation forms, digital tools, and graphics for online fundraising activities to increase revenue and donor/brand engagement.
- Collaborate with the Individual Giving Team and Direct Mail team to incorporate cross-fundraising opportunities to increase giving and grow the Circle of Champion and Partners for Change giving programs.
- Strategically assess and recommend appropriate digital testing across all channels in partnership with Sr. Director of Individual Giving, DEVO, OCM, and outside vendors. Track and analyze results with recommendations into actionable items.
- Overseeing the creation and execution of online cultivation, stewardship, and engagement communications.
- Car Donation Program - Oversee the day-to-day management of the car donation program, including working with the Senior Director of Individual Giving and the Senior Director of Digital Marketing to promote the program through online search marketing and managing AKF's car donation vendor.
- Peer to Peer - Partner closely with the Director of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising, the Office of Communications and Marketing, and outside vendors to identify ways to enhance revenue for KidneyNation and our Facebook fundraising efforts. Strategies will be executed through social channels, digital stewardship touchpoints, and on peer-to-peer platforms. Will serve as the key liaison to P2P fundraising platforms to ensure optimization of functionalities and compelling messages, identify ongoing opportunities to enhance the fundraising participant experience and maintain regular reporting on key digital metrics.
- Planned Giving - Work with the Senior Director of Individual Giving and Associate Director of Individual Giving to execute digital fundraising efforts in planned giving.
Technology
- Work in partnership with Marketing, Constituent Data, and IT to ensure Engaging Networks (eCRM) is used effectively and efficiently for all fundraising needs.
- Ensure accurate data entry, source coding, segmentation, data sync, ask strings, and campaign data integration in partnership, with Constituent Data and the Director of Email Marketing
Collaboration with Office of Marketing and Communications
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to align digital fundraising initiatives with brand voice, message, and marketing campaigns where appropriate, ensuring a seamless donor experience.
- Enhance website and donation page functionality with marketing and communications to optimize user experience, donations, donor journey, and donation form conversion rates.
- Strategically assess and recommend appropriate CTAs across all channels with the Senior Director of Individual Giving, DEVO, OCM, and outside vendors. Track and analyze CTAs across all channels with strategic recommendations.
- Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead regular digital fundraising meetings, with a coordinated agenda, actionable items, and a report-out as appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and manage reporting system(s) that includes developing reports and dashboards that deliver a series of strategic metrics, demonstrate our donors' behavior, and predict our program's trajectory to appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop and manage an annual strategic plan and budget (expenses and revenue projections) for email, texting search, display, paid social, and other digital marketing channels to increase revenue, working in partnership with outside vendors, Sr. Directors of Individual Giving, Brand Marketing, and Digital Marketing. Execute the plan in a timely and cost-effective manner from beginning to end. In addition, investment cases for new activity and growth should be made to support decision-making across the program.
- Demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, effectively working across departments to align goals, share resources, and build integrated solutions to foster a collaborative environment and ensure unified efforts towards AKF goals and objectives.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, plus 8+ years of related work in digital fundraising
- Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement multi-channel digital fundraising strategies
- Experience with Raiser's EdgeNXT, Engaging Networks, or similar products required
- Proficient in knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Proven track record of managing a digital fundraising program that yields results
- Comprehensive knowledge of multi-channel digital marketing platforms (email, digital newsletters, websites, social media, etc.), with a demonstrated understanding of best practices and key performance indicators
- Comprehensive experience providing CRM analysis and research is a plus.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and budgets with a commitment to high quality and attention to detail
- Comfort moving between different departments and bridging different goals/strategies within the organization
- Display creativity and initiative; respond quickly to last-minute needs and changing priorities
- Must be able to anticipate, plan, prioritize, and react to changing needs and situations with professionalism, integrity, and diplomacy
- Self-starter with the ability to equally function autonomously and as a member of a team, with high regard for accountability and outcomes
- Some experience in non-profit voluntary health is preferred
