PAY RANGE: $156,900.00 - $180,000.00 ANNUALLY

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Enterprise User Acceptance Testing is responsible for the overall quality of enterprise systems (i.e., Core, etc.). This role will build out, manage, and evolve the Enterprise User Acceptance Testing Program, increasing software quality and reliability for our employees and members. The Director will align with Golden 1 partners on testing strategies and plans to ensure high-quality releases to our production environments. This individual will engage to plan and own the end-to-end testing activities across multiple departments. The Director owns the testing on lower environments and the testing post-release into production. The Director will work with the various teams to evolve the strategy and vision of the UAT program. They represent UAT best practices, including developing a governance model to oversee the planning, scheduling, coordination, execution, and reporting of UAT activities across the Credit Union.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
  • Build, manage and establish performance goals, measuring the outcomes, and driving engagement. As a highly collaborative leader, you will also liaise with EPMO, IT, and various operational areas to optimize value, reduce risk, evaluate options, and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of user acceptance testing best practices. Build a governance program and guide and mentor the organization on UAT principles and testing methods.
  • Direct the development of the UAT strategy, methodology, discipline, and framework to ensure and continuously improve quality of software and solutions.
  • Plan and lead release, system, and project user acceptance testing, collaborating with development and product managers/and other business lines to create and execute test plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and development teams to define UAT scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • Oversee the execution of UAT plans, including test case development, test execution, defect tracking, and resolution.
  • Build strong relationships with business, project, and technology stakeholders and champion continuous improvement initiatives in areas of user acceptance and agile testing.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for UAT-related communications, providing regular updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Focus on continuous UAT improvements including usage of industry recognized best practices, appropriate testing tools, test techniques, and test automation.
  • Monitor all UAT activities, test results, customer escalations, product defects, impact alerts, and root cause analysis of production issues. Identify areas of improvement and implement steps required to improve the testing processes.
  • Ensure the proper usage of available tools to gain the maximum benefit of the UAT effort. This includes testing tools for functional, performance, automation, etc.
  • Responsible for leading and directing the UAT strategy and framework across the enterprise.
  • Provide leadership and expertise within the field of User Acceptance Testing.
  • Strong understanding of technology and the enterprise solution lifecycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts simply and clearly to cross-functional audiences.

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union's risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Lead and manage a team of UAT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary.


  • PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required to interpret, resolve, and document system problems.
  • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate a computer and other standard office equipment.

  • INTERNAL: All levels of staff and leaders across departments, throughout the credit union

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience:
  • 8 years of relevant experience and at least 5+ years of experience of leading teams. Background in software User Acceptance Testing and software development lifecycle management, and managing vendor partners
  • Knowledge/Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of UAT methodologies, tools, and best practices.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with test management tools and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
    • Expertise in building and implementing UAT frameworks and governance models across diverse business units.
    • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as ADO, .NET Core, C#, Microsoft SQL, and banking systems is a plus or equivalent technologies.
    • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, webdriver.io, and SpecFlow is a plus or equivalent technologies.
    • Experience with hiring, training, and mentoring UAT teams.
    • Minimum of 5 years software testing experience, including analysis, writing test cases, developing automation, and working with databases.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
  • Lift and carry communications equipment and computer hardware weighing up to fifty pounds as may be required.
  • Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
  • Availability for emergency and on call duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as needed.
  • Able to travel within the US as needed.
  • May work additional work hours to accomplish tasks.


  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Certifications:
      • Certified Test Engineer (CSTE) (desired).
      • Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST) (desired).
      • ISTQB or equivalent (desired).
    • Industry Experience:
      • Experience in the finance or technology sectors.
