Director - Governance-Legal Affairs

Summary

• The Governance Director is a new role reporting to the General Counsel and supporting MaineHealth's governing board and its committees in providing informative agenda content and educational programs for system,local board and committee members.
  
  The individual in this role will
  
  • Collaborate with MaineHealth Board leaders and senior executives.
  • Identify and arrange educational content for system and local board members that is interesting, informative and aligned across the organization.
  • Assist with sourcing and arranging speakers and panelists and coordinating board educational events.
  • Serve as a friendly and helpful point of contact for local and system board members.
  • Engage in self-directed learning and research to remain abreast of developments in the health care industry and policy, as well as governance best practices.
  • Be skilled at developing positive professional relationships both inside and outside the organization.
• Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or Public Policy, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • License/Certification: N/A.
  • Experience: Three (3) or more years' experience in health administration or policy required. Experience supporting board operations and activities is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry.
  • Team player who thrives on collaboration and productive professional relationships, communicates effectively, and handles conflict with maturity.
  • Outstanding capability to prepare and deliver oral, written, quantitative, or graphical reports for executive level audiences.
  • Strong ability to develop positive and professional relationships with board and committee members.
  • Strong ability to source materials, topics, and speakers that are relevant and interesting for the intended audience.
