Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position manages the HR Management/Generalist team. Direct reports of 2-10 in the generalist team across all locations.

Position Summary

This position oversees all policies, procedures, and practices of Metrolina's employee relations. They will develop and improve upon programs related to the full employee experience, and manage a team of local Human Resources representatives to execute and deliver a world class experience.

Job Description
  • Select, train, and develop a team of high performing HR professionals
  • Ensures compliance with human resources policies and procedures
  • Aligns policies across locations, and identifies appropriate addendums for workplace-specific needs
  • Coach managers on policies and procedures
  • Manage the training department on any employee and manager training needs
  • Support execution of employee recognition and events
  • Develops, maintains, and recommends policies and procedures to remain compliant and ensure a world class employee experience
  • Partner with recruiting team for a seamless experience transitioning from candidate to employee
  • Implements and evaluates effectiveness of employee programs
  • Coaching and recommends resolutions with management on employee concerns
  • Ensures all employee investigations are executed with integrity and resolution
  • Ensures managers and employees experience a meaningful review process
  • Develops recommendations and actions plans for employee relations for the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in an employee relations or generalist capacity
  • 3+ years' experience directly managing others
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • Proving ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, managers, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to communicate across all levels in the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law pertaining to employee relations, such as FLSA, ERISA, DOL, USERRA
  • Excellent customer-service orientation
  • Proven strong capabilities for attention to detail and organization
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Exception level of integrity with the ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred


Job Setting & Physical Demands

Employees in this position work primarily indoors but may be required to ambulate between locations within a large outdoor environment. The role is largely sedentary, however some administrative duties such as filing are quired. This would require the ability to lift files, open cabinets, bend or stand as necessary. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment such as phones, copiers, fax machines, etc. Fluency in the English language and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The ability to travel by all means of transportation and to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business needs is required.
