Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Programs, the Director of Behavioral Health Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's residential substance abuse and mental health treatment programs. This individual provides strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and administrative management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed behavioral health services. The Director will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and ensure effective program operations. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, organized individual and strategic thinker with strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Oversee all clinical and administrative aspects of the residential treatment program including billing functions.
  • Provide clinical supervision, direction, training, and evaluation of assigned residential clinical staff, including case management staff, nursing supervisors, and behavioral health techs.
  • Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with the agency's medical director and Medicaid-related matters.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, including funding and grant opportunities.
  • Conduct staff training and professional development to maintain high-quality care.
  • Oversee data collection, reporting, and program evaluation efforts.
  • Address client concerns, manage crisis situations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Represent the organization at community and professional events.
  • Monitor and report on program performance and outcomes to ensure compliance with funding agencies.
  • Advocate for clients within the organization and in the community.
  • Participate in organizational committees and attend professional workshops and training seminars regularly.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.
  • Education: Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Licensed as an LMHC, LCSW, Psychologist, or equivalent in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in behavioral health, including three years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience managing residential treatment programs.
  • Strong administrative, operational, and financial management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices for residential treatment programs.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English; Spanish preferred, additional languages a plus (i.e., Creole).
  • Strong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), data reporting, and general office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, and other data management tools).
  • Successful completion of background screening, Level II screening, and toxicology test.
  • Valid Florida Driver License with a clean driving record.

Qualifications, Valued, and Preferred:
  • Licensed as an LMHC, LCSW, Psychologist, or equivalent in the State of Florida.
  • Experience working with trauma survivors and vulnerable populations.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including trauma-informed care.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, insurance billing, and grant compliance.
  • Experience with electronic health records and data management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, community groups, and agencies.


Salary Description
