Responsibilities:

This critical role will lead the Business Intelligence (BI) function and ensure data-driven decision-making aligns with our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in real estate BI, data management, and Yardi software, and will work closely with stakeholders to support investment strategies, operational efficiencies, and growth initiatives. Responsibilities include:

Business Intelligence Strategy:
  • Develop and execute the BI roadmap aligned with organizational goals, ensuring BI initiatives drive business insights and support decision-making at all levels.
  • Champion the use of data analytics across departments, enhancing the firm's ability to use data as a strategic asset.

Data Management & Reporting:
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust reporting frameworks using Yardi and other BI tools to provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights on performance, trends, and financial metrics.
  • Oversee data integration and data quality efforts to ensure reliable and consistent information for analysis across various platforms and databases.

Integration Development & Maintenance:
  • Play a crucial role in building, implementing, and maintaining system integrations that facilitate seamless data flow across platforms, especially between Yardi and other business systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to identify integration opportunities, ensuring data integrity and efficiency across the firm's software ecosystem.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and enhance the integration architecture to meet evolving business requirements.

Analytics and Insights:
  • Provide deep analytical insights to support acquisitions, asset management, and property management teams, offering solutions to optimize operations and maximize ROI.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards, scorecards, and ad-hoc analyses to track and improve portfolio performance.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
  • Work closely with senior leadership and department heads, including Finance, Asset Management, Property Management, and Development, to identify data needs and provide strategic insights.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, translating business questions into data analyses and presenting results to drive informed decisions.

Technology and Process Optimization:
  • Partner with IT to enhance the BI infrastructure, ensuring the tools, processes, and data architecture support current and future business requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and tools within the Yardi ecosystem to improve data accessibility, processing, and visualization capabilities.

Management Responsibilities:

This position will oversee the business intelligence team.

Requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) is preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data management within the real estate or investment industry.
  • Proven track record of success in a similar BI leadership role, with expertise in real estate investment analytics.

Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency with Yardi software is required, with the ability to leverage Yardi data structures, reporting tools, and customizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining integrations between Yardi and other business systems.
  • Expertise in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and data management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of database management, data warehousing, and data governance.

Leadership:
  • Exceptional ability to lead and develop BI teams, foster collaboration across departments, and communicate effectively with executive leadership.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of translating data insights into business actions.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at desk.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard and tolerate prolonged periods performing work using a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
