YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)

Manage all direct marketing and database marketing operations for the Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Functions as primary database expert for targeting the right guest segments with motivating offers that profitably change player behavior. Assists in developing database marketing strategies in conjunction with property marketing teams to ensure effective program results. Works with upper management in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management and monitors transaction activity.

Assists in developing strategic use of existing information processes and evaluates potential uses of new processes. Interprets results of new segmentation, including tests and controls, and presents recommendations to enhance marketing program results. Provides analysis and recommendations that introduce new opportunities for revenue generation, and cost reduction. Ensures accuracy and integrity of all offers, guest lists, and guest records.

Oversees all appropriate system setup processes for offer validation and tracking and team member training for all marketing programs. Responsible for the overall integrity of player database information. Handles the budgeting and forecasting of all expenses relating to direct mail, database programs, and office services at the Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret sufficient, competent, relevant, and useful data to provide a sound basis for strategic business decisions
  • Create mail campaigns and monitor and modify them if necessary to ensure maximum profitability is being achieved
  • Must be capable of creating bounce-back programs, reactivation programs, and general Ad- Hoc programs and will be responsible for segmenting the database appropriately
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance computer models and applications in an effort to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of analyses
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen leadership in customer relationships, and improve the profitability of the property via enhancements to our knowledge base in support of operations strategy
  • Will manage all DM coordinators and the loyalty program, this includes all new card acquisition campaigns
  • Prepare financial schedules exhibiting department performance for management presentation at monthly review meetings
  • Evaluate the performance of all casino database marketing strategies to ensure re-investment rates are maintained and achieve acceptable profit margins. Assist in special analysis projects as required by management
  • Compile monthly volume and revenue figures in the preparation of market share analysis to facilitate managerial decision-making
  • Work with the Call Center to inform representatives of offers that are deploying to guests
  • Generate player summary reports and work with Player Services management to assign players to the appropriate staff in the player tracking system.
  • Build offers in all casino marketing and corresponding systems
  • Produce ad-hoc reporting as needed
  • Oversee all database marketing expenditures to ensure that all projects are performed within budget guidelines
  • Understand regulatory requirements and abide by those regulations that govern the marketing and direct mail functions
  • Handle guest inquiries related to database offers

WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For)
  • Great collaborators with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group. Collaborative approach with all departments
  • Three years of Database Marketing or Marketing Analytical Experience in the Gaming Industry including development, data mining, and data analysis
  • Understanding of information management and reporting analytics
  • Experience with computer report writing and/or database inquiry software such as SQL or equivalent
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including, higher level functions in EXCEL such as Pivot Tables, sumifs, Nested formulas, V/H lookups, Macros, Graphing, etc.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and make recommendations based on statistical reports
  • Ability to maintain organization, meet deadlines, possess integrity, confidentiality, and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Extreme attention to detail and organization
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Casino experience and knowledge
  • Experience with the following: IGT, LMS, VizExplorer, Infogenesis, and Agilysys, preferred

MUST HAVE'S
  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license required
  • Excellent communication skills, and project management efficacy-- highly organized, results-oriented, and able to take initiative and lead projects
  • Ability to work independently and with a team; ability to manage multiple projects and staff, including freelancers and vendors

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
  • Bachelors' Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
