The Director of Career & Community Access Program Boston is responsible for the overall management and administration of all employment and community based day support services at HOPe's Boston sites. This includes 2-3 classrooms located at JVS headquarters and operations of Without Walls program. The primary job functions include planning, budgeting, staffing, day-to-day management of services deliveries, and assessment of services to ensure individual's needs are met with high quality activities and opportunities. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Day Programs and in collaboration with CCAP Partner Jewish Vocational Services, the Boston CCAP Director participates in finding and maintaining meaningful paid employment, volunteer and enrichment opportunities.

The position is primarily located in our downtown offices on the 3rd Floor of 75 Federal Street, Boston, MA. Hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as required.
  • Provide positive, innovative and effective leadership to ensure that HOPe is a responsive and professional organization that reflects our mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
  • Leverage internal and external resources to develop and implement innovative curriculum, schedules and activities for members of the CCAP Program.
  • Collaborate with Senior Day Programs Director and JVS Leadership to explore and secure employment, volunteer, and community-based activities for identified individuals.
  • Maintain positive and effective relations with families, guardians, state agencies and community partners.
  • Meet or exceed regulatory requirements as it pertains to CCAP;
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Day Programs Director in developing, reviewing and revising operating policies and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure consistency of program quality and operations.
  • Complete quarterly audits of CCAP programs to ensure full compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Manage the annual budget for CCAP, employing revenue maximizing strategies and cost controls; ensure billing timeliness and accuracy.
  • Prepare annual plans that evaluate programs, member outcomes, contract performance, and utilization. Make recommendations for improvement and/or strategic growth.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and thought-leading practices in the field.

Other Duties
  • Assist Development and Marketing in securing funding and promotion for CCAP and the organization as a whole.

Managerial Responsibilities
  • Supervises 4-8 direct reports. Coach and support staff in goal management and reporting.
  • Set performance goals and project deadlines.
  • Organize workflow, delegate work to employees, track progress and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Monitor employee productivity, address concerns with work quality, and other concerns in an effective, timely manner.
  • Ensure employees adhere to company policies.
  • Conduct performance reviews, motivate team members and create strategies to boost productivity.
  • Identify and ensure the completion of training plans, licenses/certifications and professional development.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Minimum Required Technical Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in human services

Education/Certifications/Licensure
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR

Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional papers, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective verbal communication.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and talk or hear, occasionally required to lift boxes weighing at least 20 lbs., and may use repetitive wrist and hand motions involved in sorting and handling documents.
