Purpose of Role
As the Director of Channel Merchandising for Factory House, you will be responsible for defining and managing the merchandising vision and business strategy for our largest DTC channel, reporting directly to the SVP of Americas Merchandising. Your role involves optimizing product assortment and architecture to maximize revenue and profit, preparing and facilitating line reviews, and creating a merchandising flow calendar that highlights key items, trends, and product launches. You will also collaborate cross-functionally to define and implement pricing and promotional strategies, develop floor planograms, and develop a long-range strategic plan for the channel. This role requires strong understanding of the marketplace and the ability to analyze sales and consumer trends to optimize the business within the season. You will oversee and develop a team of Merchants supporting various product categories.
Your Impact
Manage and define a merchandising vision and business strategy for Factory House and reporting to the SVP of Americas Merchandising.
Create and optimize architecture & product assortment (Made for Outlet and Excess) in Factory House channel that will maximize potential for revenue and especially profit.
Facilitate and prepare line reviews for product category of responsibility with POD, Leadership and or Global Team.
Create a merchandising flow calendar that identifies key items, trends, and product launches appropriate to the product category and store segmentation.
Define and implement category pricing / promo strategy appropriate to Factory house channel.
Determine strategy for floor planograms for product placement. Influence collateral needs for product placement and emphasis.
Represent and drive the merchandising and design meetings with Global organization from a regional lens
Partner and lead a team of cross functional procedure experts assigned to the same channel that include a Planning, Allocation, Operations and Visual Merchandising partner.
Analyze sales trends and make recommendations for strategic action (in season and future seasons)
Analyze historical sales performances and use as influence in making merchandising strategies for anniversary time periods.
Foster and create positive relationships with the stores and getting their feedback and insight as to product needs and consumer reactions to product assortments and items.
Facilitate and prepare line reviews for product category of responsibility.
Elevate Merchant competencies, capabilities, and commercial acumen
Attract and coach a team of merchants to drive both revenue and personal development success.
Qualifications
Ability to lead & influence cross-functional partners through strong and proven relationships
Ability to successfully lead a cross-functional pod
Ability to communicate operational processes and best practices verbally and in writing
Ability to coach & inspire their direct and extended Merchandising teammates
Consummate collaborator, effective communicator, consensus-builder and influencer
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Minimum of 10 years relevant merchandising, merchandising operations, product, or product operations experience in a fast-paced, product-oriented, consumer-driven company, demonstrating proven career growth and increased responsibility.
Experience with a variety of go-to market models (wholesale, direct-to-consumer, retail, digital, etc.) in a matrixed organization
Track record of successfully motivating, collaborating with & influencing functional & cross functional teammates across all levels of the organization (leadership, to peers to entry level)
Demonstrable ability to drive change across a highly matrixed organization
Track record of leading and managing teams through processes and change.

Base Compensation
$158,215.00 - $217,544.80 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. Workplace Location
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore office.
- Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 3 days in-office per week through September 5, 2025. Beginning September 8, 2025, the in-office requirement will increase to 4 days per week.
