Job Summary: Serves as an internal subject matter expert and resource for clinical quality of care programs, policies, procedures and processes. Responsible .for the hospital's compliance with accreditation ion, regulatory and governmental standards for all clinical areas. Oversees the patient experience function and handling of patient grievances. Serves as the management representative to the Quality and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee of the Board. Participates in the organization-wide performance improvement projects program (PIPs). Reports quality data, adverse events and clinical outcomes as requested or required by various internal and external parties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college and licensed as a Registered Nurse required. MSN preferred.

2. Ten years of nursing experience in a healthcare facility with five years in a behavioral health organization.

3. Five years of experience conducting clinical chart audits, analyzing results, compiling data and developing action plans.

4. Must have the ability to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking skills through the use of the Nursing process and provide education and resources to the organization.

5. Must exhibit a high degree of professional excellence characterized by sound independent judgement, initiative and a high standard of ethics.

6. Computer literacy required, including experience using spreadsheets and databases and report writing. Microsoft product knowledge highly preferred.

Department Specific Competencies

Serves as an internal subject matter expert for quality of care principles, best practices and evidence based quality programs. Evaluates appropriate resources such as journals, newsletters, websites, making them available to appropriate individuals to support the transfer of quality of care knowledge.

Works in a collaborative manner with clinical managers, directors and staff on patient quality issues. Establishes methods to communicate changes/educational information to appropriate leaders (E-mail, Web sites, audio/video conference availability, and publications).

Responsible and accountable for planning, implementing and managing the work processes and programs in the hospital related to the quality of patient care.

Provides leadership and content expertise with regard to regulatory/accreditation requirements. Monitors, audits and reports on the hospital's compliance with accreditation, regulatory and governmental standards for all clinical areas in order to ensure continuous readiness. Coordinates internal/mock survey activities. Serves as the primary contact with agencies for interpretation and clarification of standards when necessary. Develops mechanisms to include internal surveys to assess and document the organizational level of compliance with applicable standards. Serves as the primary

Brattleboro Retreat liaison to external accreditation agencies and regulators.

Oversees the patient experience function and handling of patient grievances.
