Position Title: Director, NJ Clubhouse Location: Newark, New Jersey

General Purpose:

Goodwill NYNJ is seeking a visionary and founding Clubhouse Director to lead the launch and establishment of our new pilot Clubhouse program in Newark, NJ.

The Clubhouse Director will be responsible for using the Clubhouse International (CI) model, working with local leaders, community-based organizations, and promoting the recovery and empowerment of individuals living with mental illness.

Essential Functions:.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the launch and
    operation of the Clubhouse pilot


  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of staff and members, fostering a collaborative
    and supportive environment


  • Oversee the setup of the Clubhouse facility, ensuring compliance with CI
    standards


  • Establish and implement policies, procedures, and operational systems aligned
    with the CI model


  • Develop and implement effective marketing and outreach strategies to promote
    the Clubhouse and engage the community


  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare
    providers, and stakeholders


  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting, billing (Medicaid), and financial reporting


  • With SVP lead the Clubhouse through the CI accreditation process


  • Represent the Clubhouse at local, regional, and national events and conferences


Establish and grow the advisory board

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology,
    rehabilitation counseling, or human services)


  • Experience in a leadership role, preferably within a Clubhouse or similar mental
    health organization


  • Knowledge of the CI model and psychosocial rehabilitation principles


  • Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills


  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building abilities


  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including members, staff, and
    community partners


  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management on a program level


  • Commitment to promoting recovery, empowerment, and social inclusion for
    individuals living with mental illness


  • Experience in launching and establishing new programs or organizations is highly
    desirable
