The Role:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Commercial Learning and Development, you will be responsible for designing, building, and executing leadership development training across multiple functional groups within the commercial organization. This is a newly created, unique role which is a result of organizational growth and the desire for a dedicated commercial leadership program. Additionally, the successful candidate will partner with the leaders across the company to collectively build and maintain a thriving culture and community by facilitating learning, development, and connections among all cross functional teams. Moreover, the individual will be responsible for the development and delivery of product, disease state and competitive landscape training within Syndax with our growing product portfolio. Currently, Syndax has two approved products that are currently being promoted in the field with Revuforj and Niktimvo. It will be the responsibility of the individual to ensure that we are well prepared for significant growth of our organization and that the new team members are successfully integrated into the company culture while continuing to foster and develop employee capabilities and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive leadership development strategy, including training programs, workshops, and mentoring initiatives
  • Design and create engaging training materials, content, and resources that align with leadership competencies and organizational goals
  • Lead impactful training sessions and workshops focused on leadership skills, emotional intelligence, communication, and other relevant topics
  • Provide guidance and training to managers on effective leadership practices, coaching, performance management, and team development
  • Collaborate with HR and senior management to identify leadership development needs, utilizing assessments and feedback mechanisms
  • Implement methods to assess the effectiveness of leadership development programs, gather feedback, and make necessary improvements
  • Monitor the growth and progress of leadership trainees, providing guidance and recommendations for their ongoing development
  • Coordinate and execute the delivery of product training programs for the commercial engagement team(s)
  • Research new training materials and vendors that might enhance our training procedures and provide value to our employees
  • Assist with onboarding of new hires as well as create curriculum for advanced learning
  • Identify future training needs and create curriculum to facilitate the training around our two promoted products, Revuforj, and Niktimvo
  • Monitor program budgets and upwardly manage project scope as needed
  • Supply feedback and insights from training sessions to inform the design of future training programs
  • Ability to travel 30% including meetings, conferences, field rides and home office as required
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement, including a mix of in-office and remote based working


Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:
  • BA/BS is required; advanced degree is a plus
  • At least 12 years of first/second line leadership, sales training and/or leadership development experience; with at least 5 years being with pharmaceuticals / biotech; start up a plus
  • 2+ years of experience leading people
  • Strongly prefer candidates with oncology and/or hematology and/or diagnostic and/or rare disease experience
  • Launch experience in a complex marketplace is a must
  • Experience with a copromotion is a plus
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Lead without authority to drive results
  • Results-driven, highly organized, and detail-oriented approach to work with a commitment to excellence
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Vendor management
  • Professional certifications in leadership development or training
  • Support and comply with the company's compliance policies and procedures

Location: Syndax's corporate office is in New York, NY.

Syndax offers a total compensation and rewards package that is among the most competitive in the industry. Base pay is just one element of our package and is determined within a range based on several factors including market data, experience, qualifications, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, travel requirements and internal equity. Our overall package also includes an equity offering, annual target bonuses, and an outstanding benefits program. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $230,000 - $247,000.
