The Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Special Servicing sets the direction and provides oversight and support to all Servicing business teams, legal teams, and external parties such as investors and clients related to the Commercial Servicing platform. This position drives strategic planning and special project support for the department. The Vice President role is focused on leading and managing the operations, ensuring efficient and compliant servicing of commercial loans, while driving business growth and profitability. This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Commercial Servicing.

The Company is looking to increase its market share in the commercial mortgage servicing industry by optimizing its servicing practices, tools, and technologies. As the leader in Commercial operations, this individual will be responsible for driving the strategy and vision required to achieve operational excellence while delivering exceptional client experiences.

This is a highly visible position that will interface with senior executive leadership and will represent Commercial Servicing to clients, investors, and rating agencies.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and thought leadership to achieve short term and long-term goals.
  • Identify and pursue, in conjunction with the Growth organization, new business opportunities to expand the Commercial loan servicing portfolio.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and build strong relationships with existing ones.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in the commercial loan sector.
  • Implement new products and services, ensuring successful launch and adoption.
  • Drive large-scale project management initiatives - planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies and achieve business objectives
  • Act as an executive relationship manager with investors maintaining regular contact with representatives of each on behalf of Commercial Servicing.
  • Drive operational excellence through process improvement, promote efficiency improvements through automation and other technology
  • Oversee budget processes, management of the P/L, and departmental staffing models to meet business targets for growth and profitability.
  • Develop innovative strategies, processes, and tools for optimal execution of asset resolutions.
  • Provide oversight to management team to provide guidance, identify and assess potential risks along with formulating resolutions
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead talent acquisition, development, and retention efforts to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 15+ years of industry experience, with direct experience in special servicing and asset management within Commercial Real Estate, including SFR portfolio loans, RTL, DSCR and securitizations
  • Minimum 5+ years supervisory experience
  • Proficient in integrating statistical analysis, technological advancements, and process improvement strategies
  • Proven experience and competency in strategic planning and business development, including contract negotiations
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven financial acumen through resource allocation, effective budget and expense management, use of key metrics such as revenue growth and cost efficiencies
  • Ability to analyze and present complex information concisely, with clarity
  • Demonstrated experience in partnering with all levels of the organization to ensure effective implementation of time-sensitive initiatives, identification of deficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Successful track record of developing strong relationships across a broad range of leadership functions allowing for effective influencing and change

Training / Licensing Requirements:
  • Must pass the Company's Background Screening process prior to beginning employment.

The salary range for this position is expected to be $140,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for annual bonus and long term incentive based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.
