The Family Tree is the resultant agency of the 1997 merger of two child abuse prevention agencies: Parents Anonymous of Maryland and The Child Abuse Prevention Center.

This role is responsible for providing leadership and direction to agency programs, with a focus on facilitating their growth and optimizing the quality of services offered to families. Strategic collaboration with like-minded agencies to form alliances is a key component of this position, as is promoting the vision of the Leadership Board and Executive Director. Working closely with middle management staff, the incumbent will develop effective strategic goals annually. Additionally, the position will oversee the administration, implementation and evaluation of community-based services. These services include but are not limited to the Kids Car Plus childcare program, The Sheppard Training Institute, the Family Education Department, the 24 hour call line and the Community Engagement Department.

Education/Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in management in a human services or non profit agency
  • Experience with diverse funding strategies
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, preferably in grant writing
  • Master's degree in human services or behavioral field required

Work environment:
  • Must work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Must be prepared to travel to various program sites and varioius communities.
  • A driver's license and insured vehicle is necessary to fulfill the duties and responsiblities for the position.
