Job Purpose
The Director of Content Strategy and Marketing Operations is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with university goals, enhances brand presence, and drives engagement from our key constituencies. This role involves leading a team of content strategists in optimizing multi-channel content deployment while measuring and optimizing its impact. Additionally, the Director manages a group of marketing project managers who guide projects across marketing disciplines to achieve university, division, and school/college goals.
Essential Functions
Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies that maximize the performance and impact of our content. Deep understanding of the target audience to consult and guide marketing initiatives. Set and achieve performance metrics for content engagement and success.
Collaborate with team and other marketing leaders to define and oversee the timely creation, production, and distribution of high-impact content that supports the university's key messaging strategies across platforms including web, video, social media, email, print, and more.
Manage, forecast and prioritize the marketing content calendar resource allocations and for annual marketing campaigns to ensure timely and effective delivery of marketing assets.
Oversee marketing operations such as budget management, process improvements, and cross- and inter-departmental collaboration.
Lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment. Recruit, interview, hire and coach staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Reports to: Vice President/AVP/Dean.
Leadership Accountability: Develops strategic plans and interprets policy.
Supervisory Accountability: Supervises professionals and non-managers.
Organizational Accountability: Manages sub-unit of a department.
Financial Accountability: Approves expenditures.
Customer Accountability: Interfaces with customers outside the S/C/D.
Freedom to Act: Operates with significant autonomy.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
Graduation from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience
Expert (established subject matter expert, 7+ years experience).
Related experience and track record for building and leading exceptional teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience creating marketing campaign strategies, crafting key messages, implementing content plans and defining campaign success.
Ability to create impactful content strategies that align with specific campaign narratives and goals.
Ability to work with all types of content (i.e., video, paid content, print publications, social media, email.).
Deep understanding of content operations, digital asset management (DAM) systems, technologies, and other tools or workflows, with the ability to drive efficiencies and scalability.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
Excellent communication skills that influence winning outcomes in a cross-functional environment.
Curiosity and ability to transition from strategic thinking to creative execution.
Ability to coach and manage employee performance.
Ability to recruit and train leads and managers.
