We're searching for a Director, Controller to lead the charge in elevating our U.S. finance operations. This is a pivotal leadership role for a seasoned financial leader with end-to-end expertise in accounting, reporting, compliance, tax, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management. You bring order to complexity, lead with vision and accountability, and know how to scale financial systems that support ambitious growth.

You've successfully built and led high-performing accounting and finance teams-both internal and outsourced-and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. With a strong foundation in real estate finance, you understand the intricacies of property-level reporting, stakeholder engagement, and investor relations. Most importantly, you're a strategic business partner who's energized by building the future-and ready to help shape the next chapter of Yugo's global success.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Compliance Leadership
  • Lead all accounting operations across Yugo USA, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and transactional accounting.
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and internal policy standards.
  • Design and implement robust financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance, consistency, and audit readiness.
  • Oversee tax strategy and compliance in coordination with external advisors, including transfer pricing, federal/state filings, and entity-level reporting.
  • Relocate and re-establish the U.S. finance function from Colorado to a new U.S. base, maintaining service continuity and strong performance throughout the transition.

Financial Planning & Performance
  • Lead corporate and property-level budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Oversee internal reporting processes, including projected cash flows and KPI reporting for leadership and property stakeholders.
  • Deliver meaningful financial insights and partner with the Global Executive Team to support strategic decision-making.
  • Enhance forecasting and scenario planning capabilities to improve business agility and performance
  • Drive consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in monthly and quarterly closes, as well as in variance analyses against plans.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing accounting and finance team-both in-house and outsourced.
  • Establish a scalable team structure with clear roles, responsibilities, and workflows aligned to Yugo's growth strategy.
  • Support team growth through coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with People and Culture on talent development, succession planning, and performance management

Stakeholder Partnership & Strategic Influence
  • Act as a senior financial leader and strategic partner to cross-functional teams including Property Management, Asset Management, and Global Finance.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders including investors, financial institutions, audit partners, and advisors.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insight for decision-makers.
  • Represent Yugo USA in financial matters with the global leadership team and ensure alignment with international processes and reporting standards.
  • Partner with Training department to support in the creation of internal trainings for onsite teams on process, procedure and overall financial acumen.


Qualifications

What You Bring

Required
  • Active CPA with 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role, managing and mentoring finance teams.
  • Proven ability to build scalable systems and teams in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in GAAP, tax, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with general ledger, ERP, and property management systems.

Preferred
  • Industry knowledge in real estate, multifamily housing, or a closely related field, with direct experience in property-level accounting and reporting.
  • Big Four public accounting experience.
  • Experience within a global organization.
  • Familiarity with real estate acquisitions, capital projects, and asset reporting.
  • Knowledge of systems such as Entrata and NetSuite.
