The Position
Organon's Corporate Development ("BD") function is responsible for identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and executing business transactions that add new products, programs, and technologies to Organon's commercial portfolio and pipeline. BD relies on building relationships and working closely with many internal functions and stakeholders, as well as potential partners and external parties. BD is a fast-paced, unpredictable, challenging, and fun environment. Our BD team is an integral driver to build Organon's future and we are aligned in our mission to bring new products to Organon and offer patients around the world who need them.
The Director, International and General Medicines Corporate Development will support the International and General Medicines Franchise. She/He will help develop CD strategy and execute global or pan-regional transactions that advance Organon's growth objectives in the International and General Medicines Franchise. The Director will work with a team of highly talented professionals to identify, source, and evaluate new global/pan-regional opportunities in partnership with Commercial, IP, Manufacturing & Supply and R&D, and to support the project management, due diligence, negotiation, and execution of CD transactions.
The Director CD will establish and foster internal and external relationships that help build Organon's reputation and establish Organon as their partner of choice.
The Director CD reports to the International and General Medicines Business Development Lead.
Responsibilities
Be a significant contributor in executing Organon's CD strategy, including identification, assessment and negotiation of global/pan-regional partnering opportunities and work collaboratively with the International and General Medicines CD team
Bring a breadth and depth of transaction, scientific/technical and business knowledge; build expert understanding of Organon's areas of focus for International and General Medicines
Effectively review and triage inbound opportunities in partnership with search & evaluation efforts
Establish and nurture relationships with potential partners and with key internal stakeholders in the review and consideration of potential opportunities
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree required
Advanced degree in a scientific or business discipline and/or MBA highly preferred
At least 5 years' overall relevant work experience
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
4 years of experience in Biotech or Pharmaceuticals industry
2 years of experience with external innovation and transaction execution
Demonstrated history of innovative thinking and strong strategic agility
Keen ability to apply business, commercial and scientific knowledge to present and facilitate review and consideration of new opportunities
Applies rigor in assessing new opportunities and effectively leads discussions with key executives to facilitate efficient review and decision making
Ability to work effectively in a global matrixed organization
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external audiences
Ability to influence decisions or issues that have broad business impact
