Summary:

To develop and foster relationships with corporations by providing high quality, meaningful interactions to bolster long-term relationships, engagement, and investment. This position will have significant revenue-generation, relationship building, stewardship, strategy, and implementation responsibilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Grow Corporate Relationships
  • Build relationships with key corporate contacts at all levels and across a variety of functions to help advance key partnerships
  • Cultivate, manage, and grow relationships with new and existing corporate partners
  • Leverage professional network to grow awareness and opportunities for Direct Relief among corporations
  • Initiate innovative ideas to generate new revenue and add value to partnerships
  • Develop compelling presentations and proposals
  • Work with internal teams to develop visibility/communications activities to promote corporate partnerships
  • Support strategies of giving efforts through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to support departmental and organizational goals
  • Clearly and confidently articulate the programs of Direct Relief to a variety of constituents, including to corporate leadership teams to raise awareness and solicit donations

Build Business Development Strategies
  • Identify the CSR / ESG goals, strategy, programs, and budget of target corporate donors
  • Develop and execute plans which maximize partnerships through U.S. and international activities including corporate foundation grants, cause marketing, sponsorship, customer fundraising, matching gifts, employee engagement, and/or shared value activities, while also delivering on the partners' business and philanthropy goals
  • Analyze the interests of donor and prospect companies to develop compelling pitches, fundraising campaigns, engagement strategies, and stewardship activities
  • Meet with influential corporations to develop engagement opportunities
  • Develop and implement multi-year corporate partnerships that align with the organization's mission and vision, helping to meet strategic priorities and current/future funding objectives
  • Negotiate partnership terms and contracts
  • Other duties will be assigned as deemed appropriate for the position.
  • Perform necessary administrative responsibilities, including documentation of all activity, report generation, and data analysis using the donor database system
  • Conduct all efforts in a fiscally responsible manner

Education and Training:
  • 10 or more years' experience in corporate giving, business development, marketing and sales, and or other relevant fields that interact and build relationships with businesses.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (Master's degree preferred)
  • Familiar with computers and standard software applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel and donor databases.

Technical Requirements:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with corporations, donors, sponsors, employees, and the public.
  • Ability to manage co-workers when appropriate and needed by department leadership
  • Ability to build relations with and raise funds from companies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and personalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail, as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaborate as a member of the team and across other departments/functions
  • Ability to occasionally work nights and/or weekends.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel via automobile, train, or airplane sometimes on short notice.
  • Must pass (clear) toxicology and background screening.
