Job Description:
The Director directs, organizes, coordinates, and implements the day-to-day Medical Staff Services and CVO activities for Powers Health. Provides resources required for the Medical Staff Offices and CVO to enable them to fulfill their duties and obligations in accordance with the hospital mission, medical staff bylaws, medical staff rules and regulations, and state and federal regulatory agencies. Responsible for assuring that the departments are using efficient methods and current technology with regard to workflows, work processing, policies and procedures. The Director is responsible for assuring that the departments are meeting all applicable accreditation and licensing agency requirements. Reports to the VP of Corporate Compliance, Quality/Risk, Medical Staff Services, however, is accountable to hospital administration, and functionally to the medical staff. The position is also responsible for developing strategic planning for the departments which includes employee development and performance; effective resource utilization and budget preparation and compliance.

Job Description:

The Director is responsible for assuring that the departments are meeting all applicable accreditation and licensing agency requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field; Masters' degree preferred. Combination of college education and experience will be considered.
- CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Staff Management) from the National Association of Medical Staff services required; Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is preferred.
- 5-7 years' experience in Medical Staff Services with management experience including but not limited to onboarding and off-boarding practitioners, physician contract management, practitioner database maintenance, medical staff organization, accreditation standards requirements, medical/legal issues, licensing and regulatory agency requirements.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong technical skills with Medical Staff software for management and credentialing including implementation.
- Possesses strong critical thinking and analytical skills; Ability to work strategically.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; Proven strong organizational, interpersonal and management skills.
- Knowledge of state laws and references, and federal requirements for reported mandated requirements.
- Must be able to travel to all our hospitals.
