POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Franciscan Health Foundation exists to support the programs and services of Franciscan Alliance, Inc. We are dedicated to addressing the ever-growing healthcare needs of our communities and supporting patient needs at our not-for-profit hospitals, outpatient facilities and community-based programs throughout Indiana and South Suburban Chicago.
The Director of Development plays a key role within the Western Indiana Division of the Franciscan Health Foundation. This individual is primarily responsible for cultivating and soliciting major and planned gifts that will benefit the patients, staff, and communities impacted by our three hospitals which are located in Lafayette, Crawfordsville, and Rensselaer. In addition, the Director will be responsible for the development operations associated with our St. Elizabeth School of Nursing.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
- Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and close both major and planned gifts in support of the hospital's fundraising goals.
- Engage in the execution and strategy surrounding the Foundations employee giving efforts. This would include staff, providers, and executives.
- Develop and maintain relationships through the appropriate use of in-person meetings, phone calls, and appropriate forms of written communication.
- Engage with hospital leadership, clinicians, and community members to include them in donor cultivation efforts.
- Work to develop a strategic plan to grow and expand both major and planned gift initiatives throughout the school.
- Create strategic opportunities for donors to invest in our school in the areas of student aid, faculty assistance, capital growth, and legacy support.
- Coordinate with both hospital and school leadership to develop a strategy for future campaign opportunities.
- Identify and cultivate new relationships with alumni both inside and outside the state of Indiana.
- Assist with the coordination of alumni engagement materials, provide leadership for alumni councils, and strategically expand engagement opportunities.
- Maintain a portfolio of approximately 100 individuals, corporations, and foundations who are supporting the mission of Franciscan Alliance.
- Qualify new prospects through the utilization of donor networks and relationships.
- Develop and implement personalized strategies for donor engagement, cultivation, and solicitation to maximize philanthropic support.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to align strategies for major gift fundraising with broader institutional goals.
- Participate in hospital events, community outreach, and other networking opportunities to enhance the foundation's visibility and engage with new potential donors.
- Track and report on progress towards goals and provided updates to leadership regarding donor activities and outcomes as needed.
- Prepare donor proposals, presentations, and stewardship reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Promptly enter contact reports, solicitations, and other forms of activity into our shared database (Raisers Edge NXT) to ensure continuity and accuracy of information.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's Degree - Required
- Bachelors Degree - Preferred
- Masters Degree MBA - Preferred
- 3 years Fundraising experience with focus in major gifts and capital campaigns - Required - AND-
- 5 years Development, Fundraising, Communications, and/or Public Relations - Required - AND-
- Fundraising generalist background with a record of achievements and demonstrated expertise in multiple areas of development, including, but not limited to, employee campaigns, annual fund, corporate/community giving. -Required - AND-
- Demonstrated ability and success in cultivating and soliciting donors for leadership Annual Fund gifts and major gifts. - Required
