The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Director for ECI to join our team. This individual will be responsible for establishing and executing the major goals and objectives of the Mental Retardation Services Division for EC!. Responsible for ensuring that revenue meets or exceeds expenses. Interprets and implements Agency related, Deputy Director, and Executive Director directives. Provide leadership, direction, and guidance of Departmental activities. Manages, analyzes, and evaluates the effectiveness of all operations. Develops and maintains effective organizational structure and personnel. Coordinates major activities through subordinates.

Your Role in Action:
  • Manages the budget allocated for the fiscal year in a manner that is cost effective and efficient.
  • Coordinates compliance efforts for designated programs related to State agency contract, Data Verification.
  • Criteria (DVC), Commissioner's Rules, Agency P&P's, QA Initiatives, Life/Safety Codes, and other applicable guidelines/standards.
  • Achieves projected targets related to number of consumers contacted, processed, served, placed, or linked as required by applicable guidelines/standards.
  • Maintains a constant level of consumer and staff safety.
  • Implements a system to provide regularly scheduled supervision, promote leadership qualities in subordinates.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • Master's degree required.
  • Master's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Soc i al Work, or Education, preferred

Experience:
  • Five to ten years of progressive experience in the management of programs serving persons with developmental disabilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of the field of Developmental Disabilities combined with knowledge of production, employee coaching and development, management, and required support activities.
  • Basic knowledge of business support functions including human resources, information technology, accounting, and finance.
  • Strong leadership and Interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Solid organizational and analytical abilities. Able to coordinate, manage, and direct others.
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Able to deal with very difficult concepts and complex variables.
  • Mathematics Ability: Able to understand basic statistical reports including frequency distributions, reliability and validity tests, normal curve, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to read scientific and technical journals, abstracts, financial reports, and legal
  • Ability to prepare articles, abstracts, editorials, journals, manuals, and critiques.
  • Ability to prepare and make comprehensive presentations, participate in formal debate, communicate extemporaneously, and communicate professionally before an audience.
