Main Purpose of Job
This position provides leadership direction and supervision over the Environmental Health Division of the Calvert County Health Department including responsibility for employees and programs managed by the Division.
Duties performed by this position include, but are not limited to:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in biological, physical, environmental science or chemistry, and six (6) years of experience involving inspections and investigations in the field of environmental health or closely related environmental health experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity. A master's degree in Public Health or Environmental Health Science can substitute for one year of the non-supervisory experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess supervisory experience in the Well/Septic Program or the Food Program of Environmental Health.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Candidates for positions in this classification must possess and maintain a current license or be eligible to obtain licensure as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist from the Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialists.
SELECTION PROCESS
This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A Resume must be uploaded to the application.

Main Purpose of Job
This position provides leadership direction and supervision over the Environmental Health Division of the Calvert County Health Department including responsibility for employees and programs managed by the Division.

- Managing all activities of the Environmental Health Division including Sewer Program, Water Program and Food Program as delineated in the Program Plans.
- Planning, organizing, guiding and supervising the overall work of the staff of the Environmental Health Division.
- Coordinating within the Calvert County Health Department and externally with the State and County Governmental entities and with the private sector.
- Ensuring an all hazard emergency response capability is developed, maintained and executed as needed for all assigned staff.
- Managing the Environmental Health Division budget to insure fiscal integrity and accountability.
