Position Summary:
This employee functions as the Director of Environmental Services for Williamson Health. As the Department Director, the incumbent is responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the hospital; both the physical building, laundry and linen. In addition, the EVS Director is the manager of the EVS department with responsibility for the day-to-day operation and management of the department, including all personnel and staffing, departmental budget, contracts and productivity metrics.

Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.

Workplace Experience:
At least ten years of experience in hospital based environmental services management. Previous leadership experience is preferred.

Equipment and Skills Training:
Strong oral and written communication skills; computer skills (word and excel).

Physical Environment:
Interior hospital and office building environment requiring some physical labor within the department.

Physical Effort:
General hospital environment; may be required to do sitting, lifting, standing, walking and operating equipment.

Key Results:
Supervises the environmental services and laundry & linen departments including day-to-day operations, hiring, training, staff development and performance reviews.
Supervises the administrative functions of the EVS and Laundry/Linen departments.
Plans for the short- and long-term goals of WH with regard to environmental services and fosters continually quality improvement. Goals are reviewed annually with Associate Administrator of Operations.
Organizes and periodically evaluates the department's work process and workflow including staffing Makes appropriate staffing changes to meet the needs of the hospital and EVS staff.
Maintains a good working relationship with the department head staff, senior staff and executive team, responding to requests in an appropriate time frame.
Prepares, maintains and tracks departmental budget for salary, capital expenditures, and other operating expenses. Monitors productivity measures and makes adjustments as needed.
Participates in department directors' meetings and hospital committees and activities as requested.
Handles performance accountability issues within the department per hospital policy and seeks partnership with human resources when appropriate.
Analyzes HCAPHS and Press Ganey results (including patient satisfaction regarding hospital cleanliness and employee engagement) and implements PI as needed.
Evaluates through daily rounding the cleanliness of the hospital and makes certain that our physical building makes a good first impression upon our patients and visitors.
Keeps the department in a continuous state of readiness for Joint Commission. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Encourages and fosters an environment of teamwork, inclusion and cooperation among all employees. Provides timely and effective communication to all employees.
