Job Description

The Director of Estimating must be an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individual who shall possess the skills required to successfully develop and execute estimating tasks, deliverables, be a collaborative team player, and shall be a strong leader to drive collaboration amongst all groups within CRB. She/he creates brand differentiation and pre-eminence for CRB in the market by working with teams to drive and support project estimating expertise, excellence, and standardization to create brand differentiation and pre-eminence in the market.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative / disruptive project estimating standards, processes and solutions across CRB
  • Drive a culture of continuous estimating learning and improvement that maximize CRB's risk/reward value proposition
  • Creation and ownership of strategy and priorities of CRB estimating expertise and specialty differentiation and drive this throughout CRB's business.
  • Develop and manage CRB's commercial project estimating standards and processes
  • Drive design and construction estimating and cost awareness mindset into CRB's culture
  • Provide project estimating leadership across CRB
  • Ensure project estimating training is embedded into CRB's career path and develop of our staff
  • Recruiting and support staffing the Corporate Estimating Team.
  • Perform or participate in estimating staff employee performance reviews
  • Develop annual business plan for Estimating.
  • Approval of estimating department costs (software, expense reports, etc.)
  • Actively participate on the Risk Committee for proposals.
  • Capably function as a Lead Estimator when workload requires.
  • Collaborate with Directors of Cost Control, Planning/Scheduling, Project Management to coordinate LEAN integrated design and construction processes and work practices


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • College Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, and/or Construction Industry
  • Demonstrated success in managing architecture, engineering, and construction processes
  • Integrated Project Delivery experience, a plus
  • Life Science Design and Construction experience
  • Previous project management and/or pre-construction experience.
  • Possess strong understanding of the project (and estimate) lifecycles.
  • Understand project logistics and project schedules
  • Able to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
  • Able to work effectively and make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Possess conceptual and detailed estimating skills.
  • Understanding standard design and construction details and drawings.
  • Individual must be self-motivated and possess strong communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of estimating practices and procedures including software input and data manipulation utilizing estimating software such as Timberline (Sage Estimating) and OnScreen Takeoff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with the following types of projects:
  • o Life Science Projects

    o Industrial Projects

    o Commercial Projects
