Compensation:

Salary Range $100,700 - $142,929 (Grade C - 677 Hay Points)

Responsibilities:

This role ensures that examinations are administered in a fair and equitable manner for NYCT/MTABC/MTABT hourly and supervisory positions. While using independent initiative and judgment to make decisions, the Director of Examination Administration manages difficult Exam Administration work. This work includes but is not limited to evaluating unit related vendor products and/or services and makes determinations as to viability. Serves as a liaison to DCAS for list establishment activities and as a subject matter expert for Exam Administration technology enhancements. Manages $3.5 million in exam fees (accounting, reconciliation, transmission to DCAS). Manages post-exam functions, calculating seniority scores, analyzing test results, creating/establishing preliminary and finalized hiring lists, interfacing with DCAS, BSC, Employment). Manages the retention, and quality control of confidential exam documents. Ensures compliance with Civil Service Law and the DCAS MOU. This position also provides administrative and clerical support to the Exam Development team as well as office management type functions.

Education and Experience:

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field and ten (10) years of full-time, paid, related experience, and at least five (5) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative capacity; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of personnel testing and selection, position classification, psychometrics. Knowledge of the NYC civil service system. Knowledge of computer systems and programs used in personnel or psychometrics testing and evaluation. Experience with planning scheduling and managing large-scale events involving large number of participants. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
