Director, Exploration
The preferred candidate will be a results-focused leader, recognized in the sector as a strategic and technical expert, with strong business acumen who performs work that demands a considerable degree of initiative, originality, visionary thinking, and judgment. You have strong interpersonal skills, are an effective communicator, and have the ability to work collaboratively with mine operations and exploration teams across the company and should be prepared for involvement, as required, in matters pertaining corporate development. You also have in-depth knowledge and expertise in gold exploration and geology, as well as substantial experience in the management of significant mine and regional exploration budgets and programs. We are seeking someone who has a proven track-record of success in gold exploration, having led teams through the execution of mineral resource growth initiatives at the deposit-scale, and through the regional exploration processes leading to discovery at the district-scale

Primary Responsibilities :
- Management of the Exploration process, including but not limited to:
- Exploration program planning and budgeting;
- Management and oversight of exploration programs to move targets from grassroots status into reserve status
- Management, leadership, and mentoring of exploration teams, and
- Communication with stakeholders;
- Working with the Vice President, Exploration, develop and maintain short-, mid- and long-range planning of exploration strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic business objectives of the Alamos.
- In collaboration with the exploration team, lead the design of exploration programs aligned with meeting the objectives of the exploration strategy.
- Ensure completion of all technical work programs within approved timelines and budgets and delivery of all required information in a timely manner for the year-end Resource and Reserve process;
- Ensuing the collection and maintenance of highest quality data and constant monitoring of the data collection process;
- Providing inspirational leadership, mentoring, development, and guidance for the Company's geoscientists and geotechnical staff;
- Ensure that best practices are being employed and that technical expertise and resources are effectively assigned in order to meet project milestones and objectives;
- Generation of reports and presentations including the delivery and clear and effective communication of exploration results to a variety of audiences;
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors;
- Other related duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in geology; advanced degree is an asset;
- Minimum 15 years' experience in mineral exploration including with significant gold experience;
- An excellent understanding of geological environments, deposit models, and ore-forming processes as it relates to the latest concepts of gold deposit systems;
- An ability to think across-scales and to integrate diverse, large datasets;
- Proven effective leadership of exploration teams and execution of large exploration projects with the ability to effectively oversee multiple projects concurrently;
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively present technical information to a variety of audiences in a clear and concise manner;
- Experience in developing and executing on exploration strategies at both the deposit and regional scale;
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community;
- A track record of talent development with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
- Exposure to large engineering projects such as Feasibility Studies would be an asset;
- Previous work experience with any of the following software platforms; AcQuire, ArcGIS, and Leapfrog
- Registered as a Professional Geologist, and meets the requirements of a "Qualified Person" as defined by Canadian Securities Administrators' National Instrument 43-101 - Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, and;
- The role will require regular travel (>50%) to Alamos' Exploration Sites
