Join an innovative and rapidly growing national Design, Engineering, and Consulting firm! WSB is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Director - Finance to help support the growth of our dynamic and expanding team of over 1,400 professionals across the nation.

As Director - Finance, you'll work closely with other members of the finance and accounting team as well as other groups across the company, taking on a diverse range of responsibilities including budgeting and planning, M&A support, strategic analysis, and investor reporting. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll play a critical role in managing financial activities and contributing to strategic decision-making that fuels the health and growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting
    • Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with the CFO.
    • Update and maintain the annual forecast model throughout the year.
    • Update and maintain the 13-week cash flow model.
  • M&A Support
    • In conjunction with the CFO and Company's financial sponsor:
      • Assist with financial underwriting and due diligence of potential M&A targets, including review of financial performance, synergy opportunities, and key risks of potential targets.
      • Lead assessment of pro forma M&A financial implications, including review of utilization, overhead rate, and customer-specific considerations.
      • Assist with post-acquisition support including integration activities and tracking financial performance of acquired companies.
  • Strategic Analysis and Reporting
    • Provide accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to the Company's internal and external stakeholders, including the Company's financial sponsor.
    • Analyze business performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key variance trends, risks, and opportunities to capitalize on growth opportunities.
    • Partner with leadership across functions to provide real-time feedback on overhead and operating expense spend, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Strategic Projects
    • Help lead strategic projects and track the financial impact realized. Potential projects include:
      • Areas of cost savings and optimization
      • Overhead rate tracking and projections
      • Acquisition integration synergies and cross-sell
  • Process Improvement
    • Streamline and enhance FP&A processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency of producing financial reports

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive FP&A experience; the ideal candidate will have AEC industry experience
  • Public accounting/M&A experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated success in financial modeling and data-driven decision making
  • Expertise in ERP systems and financial planning tools; proficiency in the Deltek Vantagepoint ERP system a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely and work across functions in the organization
  • Experience in process improvement, automation, and cost savings initiatives a plus
