The Director, Financial Reporting & Analysis is primarily responsible for the review, oversight, and analysis of QTS' internal financial reporting. In this role, you will have regular interaction and exposure to the broader executive leadership team as well as members of Blackstone, QTS' majority owner and one of the largest and most sophisticated private investment firms in the world. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely distribution of various monthly reporting packages, including compilation and reporting on various performance metrics and statistics.
    • These financial reports service various stakeholders (e.g. executive leaders, board of directors, asset management, parent company reporting requirements, etc.).
    • Reporting covers a wide range of performance metrics and requires reviewing the work of others to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting.
    • Heavy emphasis on recurring lease revenue reporting and analysis.
  • Lead and manage a team of financial reporting professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
  • Effective communication and explanation of financial metrics to various groups within the organization (e.g. accounting, strategic planning & investments, capital markets, asset management, budgeting, etc.).
  • Use finance concepts, reporting experience, and strategic thinking to resolve questions/issues in efficient and effective ways.
  • Process improvement and automation:
    • Responsible for leveraging systems (Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, Tableau, Excel) to identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation within financial reporting, driving efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with best practices to support the Company's growth.
    • Contribute to special projects aimed at improving accounting processes, financial reporting, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Support frequent ad hoc financial reporting requests.
  • Participate and actively engage/collaborate with other teams within QTS on strategic initiatives which require reporting and/or analytic support.
  • Establish and maintain effective controls over financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of reported financial information.
  • Demonstrate agility with competing projects and priorities.
  • Lead and nurture a work culture with a positive attitude that promotes open, frequent and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Eight or more years of relevant financial reporting, accounting, or FP&A experience.
  • Six or more years of management experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MBA, CPA, or graduate finance related degree.
  • Past experience includes increasingly progressive responsibility at a large company.
  • Past experience utilizing large enterprise systems to extract and manipulate vast datasets.

  • Strong analytical/technical skills and experience analyzing and interpreting financial data.
  • Experience partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders and managing to results.
  • Detail oriented; reviewing team members' work to ensure accurate and timely work product.
  • Proven leadership and management proficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional agility - flexibility to adapt to changing needs of the department and to various changes in priorities.
  • Sound organizational skills necessary to multi-task projects of varying duration and ad-hoc data requests.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
