Job Summary:
The Director, Financial Systems is responsible for directing the strategy and operations of the financial systems and technologies that support Wellstar, including Workday, UKG and OnBase. This role includes managing system upgrades, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Serving as a vital link between Finance and other key stakeholder groups, this role will provide system consultation, guidance, and support. In kind, this role serves as a point-of-contact and subject matter expert for various functional areas within Workday which may include Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Treasury, and Financial Reporting.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Financial Systems Managementa.Oversee the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the health systems financial systemsb.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all platformsc.Lead master data management in conjunction with key stakeholders; serve as data steward for financially relevant data, including system integration supportd.Manage and enhance partnership and alignment with Finance Leadership, IT, enterprise intelligence Supply Chain and HR; communicate progress to stakeholders, solicit feedback, and drive alignment on transformation initiativese.Build strong interpersonal relationships, influence and negotiate with stakeholders, and communicate level of effort to set expectations with stakeholdersf.Assumes responsibility for product governance in conjunction with key stakeholders; ensure robust governance and change management for financial systems, including documentation, socialization, presentation and approval through stakeholder groups to ensure informed decision-makingg.Directs and provides ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance using critical thinking skills and systems knowledge to address user issues and system enhancementsProcess optimizationa.Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes and workflowsb.Ensure system configuration complies with regulatory requirements and internal security policiesc.Assume responsibility for IT General Control compliance for financial systems; utilize knowledge of IT, finance and accounting processes and apply independent judgement to enhance controls and compliance frameworks to mitigate risk.d.Remain abreast of key business objectives; enhance partnership with stakeholders to deliver business-critical technology and support decision-making; take active role in evaluating significant business events (M&A, new partnerships, reorganizations) to ensure appropriate system design to meet business requirements.Collaboration and Communicationa.Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand business needs, gathering information through workshops and design sessions and translating them into requirements for system enhancements and process improvementb.Manage and enhance partnership and alignment with Finance Leadership, IT, enterprise intelligence Supply Chain and HR; communicate progress to stakeholders, solicit feedback, and drive alignment on transformation initiativesc.Participate in the design, development, updates and implementation of key systems impacting Accounting and Finance including major system implementationsResource Managementa.Lead and direct team of 4-6 people on a daily basis.b.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional developmentc.Complete performance management process in accordance with organization for team members including goal setting, interim and year-end performance reviews.Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.Required Minimum Education:
  • Bachelors Information Systems or Bachelors Accounting or Accredited Program Finance
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 7 years related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting RequiredMinimum 3 years people management experienceRequired Minimum Skills:
Proficiency with financial software systems (ex. ERP system, BI tools). Ability to identify core business needs and translate them into clear functional requirements all while driving user adoption and engagement. Ability to lead stakeholders through design decisions and requirements gathering sessions. Strong written and verbal communication including interpersonal skills necessary to lead direct reports and interact effectively with business leaders across different functions throughout the organization. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, highly adaptable to change. Ability to manage and lead multiple projects, delegate work, prioritize work, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information. Self-motivated and proactive, conscientious and detail-oriented.
